over the noon hour on September 8, 2000, a vehicle burglary was committed at the Central
Mall, 2259 S. 9th. Entry was
gained into an unsecured Coca Cola truck while it was parked in the west parking lot. A Norrand printer and a Norrand hand held computer
were stolen from the front seat of the vehicle. Total
loss is estimated at $5,000.

Sometime
during the day on December 18, 2000 a Residential Burglary was committed in the 1300 block
of Arapahoe. Entry was gained by forcing open
a back door of the residence. Once entry was
gained, the following items were stolen: Espresso
Gaggia Machine, Zenith TV and VCR, Personal Home Computer, Sony TV and VCR, Several pieces
of jewelry. Total loss and damage is
estimated at $3,030.

On November
3rd 2000 between the hours of 5:30 PM and 9:45 PM unknown person(s) entered
several mobile homes at Millennium Home Sales located at 2056 West Old 40 Hwy. and removed
a sofa table, 2 end tables, a coffee table, couch, love seat, 2 lamps, and a washer and
dryer. Estimated loss: $3000.00

8, 2000 Salina Police Department, Case# 2000-31152
At
approximately 8:30 P.M., December 1, 2000 a Robbery was committed in the Central Mall
parking lot, 2259 S. 9th. The
victim was getting out of her vehicle when a black female approached her. The female kept the victim from getting out;
saying that she has a weapon and demanded money from her purse. The victim then gave the female her money and
credit cards from her purse. The black
female is described as 25-35 years of age, 52 53, 160-180
pounds, short black hair and wearing a shiny black jacket.

Sometime
during the night of September 26, 2000 a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1200 block
of Midland. Entry was gained into a red 1988
Honda 2dr by breaking the drivers door window.
Once inside, an Alpine AM/FM CD stereo and four compact disc were stolen. Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,266.
November 24, 2000 Saline County
Sheriff's Office Case#s 2000-5932, 2000-6062, 2000-6092
On November 4th & 5th, November 11th & 12th, 2000 unknown person(s) damaged property belonging to the State of Kansas at the I-70 Eastbound rest area located at milepost 265 in Saline County Kansas. Toilets, sinks, mirrors, and soap dispensers were destroyed in the eastbound rest area. On November 13th 2000 the pop machine in the westbound rest area was damaged by attempting to pry it open. Estimated loss: $2500.00
November 17, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-29056
Sometime during the night of November 4, 2000, a total of eight vehicles had the back, side or front windshield broken with a blunt object while parked on the south lot of Bennett Pontiac, 651 S. Ohio. It appeared that possibly a baseball bat was used to break the glass. Total damage is estimated at $4,600.

At approximately 7:00 P.M., October 25, 2000 a
Komatsu Bulldozer, owned by Clarkson Construction, was started and put into gear while it
was parked near Schilling and Virginia. The
bulldozer traveled across Schilling Rd. breaking the concrete along the curb line. The bulldozer continued into the
backyard of 801 Merrily knocking down small trees and a fence before coming to a rest
against a large tree. Witnesses in the area
reported seeing two white male juveniles running from the area.
November 3, 2000, Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-5483
Around 4 AM on October 15, a burglary was
committed at the Otto Shop located at 2124 N. Hedville Road. The burglars removed the 1st
Bank of Kansas ATM machine. The ATM machine was taken 4.5 miles north on Hedville Road to
a pasture where it was cut open and the money removed. The suspects used a Red 1987 Chevy
4x4 pickup to commit the burglary and haul the ATM machine away. The truck was located in
the northern part of Saline County abandoned just south of the rest area on I135. The physical damage to the building and the ATM
machine is estimated at $19,000 dollars.

approximately 3:10 A.M., October 9, 2000, an Armed Robbery was committed at KWIK Shop, 657
Fairdale Rd. Two men entered the store with
one carrying a shotgun and demanding money. The
clerk gave the cash to the men from the cash register.
The men then fled northbound on foot from the store. The first subject is described as a black male,
511, 18-25 years old, slender build, wearing a black or navy hooded sweatshirt
with the hood pulled up. The second subject
is also a black male, 18-25 years old, 57, slender build, and dark clothing.

Between the
hours of 10:00 AM on October 1st 2000 and 11:30 AM on October 9th 2000 unknown
person(s) removed a Lincoln Ranger 8 Welder/Generator from the lot located at 1700 West
State Street next to Rumors Nightclub. Also taken were the leads that were attached to the
welder. Estimated loss: $2200.00

during the night of September 26, 2000, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 1100 block
of Crescent Dr. An 89 Pontiac Firebird was entered by prying open the corners of the
T-top. Once entry was made, a gray Pioneer
AM/FM/CD player with model number DEH-600 was pried from the dash. Also taken were a black Punch Amplifier, two (2)
black 10 JL Audio Subwoofers and a black CD case with thirty (30) CDs
containing various Rapp artist. Total loss
and damage is estimated at $1765.

At approximately 2:45 P.M., August 27, 2000 a vehicle burglary was committed in the Petro 2 parking lot, 2125 N. 9th. While the customer was inside the business, someone entered his 2000 Ford Ranger truck and took his money. The money was kept in a box that contained $8, 640.

Between the
hours 8:00 AM on September 1st 2000 and 2:00 PM on September 14th
2000 unknown person(s) entered a shed located at 1797 E. Magnolia and removed a Ryobi 14.4
volt cordless drill along with the charger and two batteries. Also taken was a Senco air
nail gun, 25 foot Stanley tape measure, and a hammer.

radio of unknown brand. Also taken from one of the trucks was a portable CD player of

E. Iron. A woman was walking westbound when

described as late 20s to early 30s, 58, 130 pounds, short dark
brown hair, wearing cut-off jean shorts, sleeveless T-shirt, ball cap and no shoes.

Between the hours of 8:00 PM on July 10th and 9:00 AM on July 11th 2000 unknown persons entered a trailer house located at 260 North Burma Road and removed a 17,000 BTU window air conditioner from a window on the North side of the trailer. Also taken from a shed on the property was an apartment size refrigerator, several small kitchen appliances, yard tools, picture frames, a potted plant, and several boxes containing personal files. Estimated loss: $1,500.00

during the night of June 28, 2000 a Business Burglary was committed at Faubion Concrete
and Construction, 632 N. 5th. Entry
was gained by cutting a hole in the wall of the business.

Several Cutlery knives; 5 Approximately $40 in quarters.

Between June 11th and June 16th, 2000, a Coleman PowerMate Generator, red in color was stolen from an enclosed trailer parked at 742 N. 11th. The generator is described as 16 or 18 horsepower, and is both electric and pull start. The generator is valued at approximately $2000.

Between the hours of 9:30 PM on May 27th 2000 and 9:00 AM on May 28th 2000 unknown person(s) entered a trailer that was used as a office at Kamikaze Paintball Park located at 3550 South Cunningham Road and removed 7 paintball guns, several cases of paintballs, Co2 pressure bottles, and other paintball equipment. The paintball guns were Tippman, Scorpion, Piranha, and Black Widow Spider brand guns. Estimated loss: $1735.00
At
approximately 3:00 A.M., May 8, 2000 an Attempted Burglary was committed at the Salina
Municipal Golf Course, 2500 E. Crawford. The
alarm at the business was activated, and upon the officers arrival, a 4 x 5
dual paned tinted window was found broken on the south side of the building.

of N. 10th. Both vehicles
had scratch marks in the paint along the entire width of the drivers side. The vehicles are a green 1998 Pontiac Sunfire and

At
approximately 6:39 A.M., April 15, 2000 a robbery was committed at the Iron Pump, 418 E.
Iron. A black male, described as
62, 250 in his 30s, walked in the store and placed a pack of cigarette
on the counter to purchase them. When the
clerk attempted to ring up the item, the black male pushed her away and grabbed the money
from the register and ran out the door.

Sometime during the night of April 7, 2000 a red and black 1999 Yamaha Banshee 350 cc All Terrain four-wheel vehicle was stolen from the bed of a truck. The ATV was tied down in the truck, which was parked in the driveway in the 500 block of Berkshire. Total loss is estimated at $6,200.

Between the hours of 8:00 AM on March 27th 2000 and 12:00 PM on April 2nd 2000 unknown person(s) removed a 1991 Yamaha 4 wheeler from a shed at 1505 South Muir Road. The 4 wheeler is red in color with gold wheels, and has luggage racks on the front and back. Estimated loss: $1500.00

Between
March 18, and March 20, 2000 a green and white Sullair 150 pull type air compressor was
stolen from the parking lot of 2106 S. 9th.
The compressor is owned by Harbin Construction. The compressor had two tool boxes that contained
two 90 pound jackhammers, 300 foot of hose and ten bits. Total loss is estimated at
$3,700.

Sometime
during the night of March 10, 2000 seven vehicles were damaged while parked at Bennett
Autoplex, 651 S. Ohio. The vehicles were
parked in the back lot of the business. It
appears that most of the damage occurred when the vehicle doors were pried on with a metal
object or the door window was shattered. Once
inside, many items were moved about or thrown outside.
In one vehicle, the ignition lock was broken.
Total damage is estimated at $2,250.

Sometime during the night of January 30, 2000 a vehicle burglary was committed at 653 Jaran. Entry was gained into a purple 92 Geo Storm by breaking a window on the vehicle. Once inside, the following items were taken:
1. Pioneer AM/FM CD Player with a detachable face plate.
2. Two Precision Power Art Series Amps
3. Three JL speakers in a plywood speaker box with a mirrored plexiglass interior.
4. Two red painted Lightning Caps cylinder compositors.
Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,300.
February 4, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#2000-254
Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2000, and 12:00 p.m. on January 16, 2000, unknown persons entered Ash Enterprises located at 1100 West Grand @1. The following items were removed from the business: A Coleman 4000 watt generator, green in color, three new DeWalt cordless drills and their battery chargers, a DeWalt reciprocal saw, Makita battery charger, and A Makita 4 inch grinder. Estimated loss: $1270.00.
January 28, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-1247
Sometime during the night of January 15, 2000 a burglary and arson were committed at Images Incorporated, 108 S. 4th. There were no signs of forced entry into the building, but approximately $50 in cash and checks written to the business are missing from the cash register. A fire was also started in the business which engulfed a large portion of the building. Total loss and damage is estimated at $300,000.
January 21, 2000 Salina Police Department Case # 99-32707
Between December 18, and December 29, 1999, a residential burglary
was committed at 1404 S. 11th. Entry was gained by forcing open the front door
and once inside the following items were taken:
1. Several pieces of gold bracelets, rope chains and rings.
2. JVC Video Camera with case
3. RCA Walkman with CD player
4. Thirty compact discs with a carrying case

Between 11:15pm on January 8th 2000 and 1:30am on January 9th 2000 unknown person(s) entered 1998 Dodge Stratus located at Randys Club 1604 West State Street and stole a silver and gray ladies purse. The purse contained video rental cards, photographs and an antique ladies watch. The watch was gold in color with 10 diamonds and 10 sapphires on the face of the watch. Estimated loss: $911.00

Sometime during the night of December 30, 1999 a Burglary was committed at the Emanuel Four Square Church, 1325 E. Cloud. There were no signs for forced entry on the outside of the building, however, the main office door had been forced open and the following items were taken:

2. Gray 2 ½ by 2 ½ safe with a mail slot
3. Pad of Emanuel Four Square business checks
4. JVC Digital Video Camera
