December 29, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-23315                                      

Sometime over the noon hour on September 8, 2000, a vehicle burglary was committed at the Central Mall, 2259 S. 9th.  Entry was gained into an unsecured Coca Cola truck while it was parked in the west parking lot.  A Norrand printer and a Norrand hand held computer were stolen from the front seat of the vehicle.  Total loss is estimated at $5,000.

December 22, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-32521

Sometime during the day on December 18, 2000 a Residential Burglary was committed in the 1300 block of Arapahoe.  Entry was gained by forcing open a back door of the residence.  Once entry was gained, the following items were stolen:  Espresso Gaggia Machine, Zenith TV and VCR, Personal Home Computer, Sony TV and VCR, Several pieces of jewelry.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,030.

December 15, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-5903

On November 3rd 2000 between the hours of 5:30 PM and 9:45 PM unknown person(s) entered several mobile homes at Millennium Home Sales located at 2056 West Old 40 Hwy. and removed a sofa table, 2 end tables, a coffee table, couch, love seat, 2 lamps, and a washer and dryer.  Estimated loss: $3000.00

December 8, 2000 Salina Police Department, Case# 2000-31152

At approximately 8:30 P.M., December 1, 2000 a Robbery was committed in the Central Mall parking lot, 2259 S. 9th.  The victim was getting out of her vehicle when a black female approached her.  The female kept the victim from getting out; saying that she has a weapon and demanded money from her purse.  The victim then gave the female her money and credit cards from her purse.  The black female is described as 25-35 years of age, 5’2” – 5’3”, 160-180 pounds, short black hair and wearing a shiny black jacket.

December 1, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-25164

Sometime during the night of September 26, 2000 a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1200 block of Midland.  Entry was gained into a red 1988 Honda 2dr by breaking the driver’s door window.   Once inside, an Alpine AM/FM CD stereo and four compact disc were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,266.

November 24, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#’s 2000-5932, 2000-6062, 2000-6092   

On November 4th & 5th, November 11th & 12th, 2000 unknown person(s) damaged property belonging to the State of Kansas at the I-70 Eastbound rest area located at milepost 265 in Saline County Kansas. Toilets, sinks, mirrors, and soap dispensers were destroyed in the eastbound rest area. On November 13th 2000 the pop machine in the westbound rest area was damaged by attempting to pry it open.  Estimated loss: $2500.00

November 17, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-29056

Sometime during the night of November 4, 2000, a total of eight vehicles had the back, side or front windshield broken with a blunt object while parked on the south lot of Bennett Pontiac, 651 S. Ohio.  It appeared that possibly a baseball bat was used to break the glass.  Total damage is estimated at $4,600.

November 10, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-27996

At approximately 7:00 P.M., October 25, 2000 a Komatsu Bulldozer, owned by Clarkson Construction, was started and put into gear while it was parked near Schilling and Virginia.  The bulldozer traveled across Schilling Rd. breaking the concrete along the curb line.    The bulldozer continued into the backyard of 801 Merrily knocking down small trees and a fence before coming to a rest against a large tree.  Witnesses in the area reported seeing two white male juveniles running from the area.

November 3, 2000, Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-5483

Around 4 AM on October 15, a burglary was committed at the Otto Shop located at 2124 N. Hedville Road. The burglars removed the 1st Bank of Kansas ATM machine. The ATM machine was taken 4.5 miles north on Hedville Road to a pasture where it was cut open and the money removed. The suspects used a Red 1987 Chevy 4x4 pickup to commit the burglary and haul the ATM machine away. The truck was located in the northern part of Saline County abandoned just south of the rest area on I135.  The physical damage to the building and the ATM machine is estimated at $19,000 dollars.

October 27, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 20000-28030; 2000-27679; 2000-27343; 2000-26333

During the past two and half weeks, four Armed Robberies have occurred at local businesses in Salina.  Three of the businesses were convenience stores located at KWIK Shop, 657 Fairdale, Pump Mart, 1118 N. 9th and KWIK Shop, 1121 W. Cloud.  The forth business was the First Inn Gold Motel, located at 2403 S. 9th.

October 20, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-26333 

At approximately 3:10 A.M., October 9, 2000, an Armed Robbery was committed at KWIK Shop, 657 Fairdale Rd.  Two men entered the store with one carrying a shotgun and demanding money.   The clerk gave the cash to the men from the cash register.   The men then fled northbound on foot from the store.  The first subject is described as a black male, 5’11”, 18-25 years old, slender build, wearing a black or navy hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.  The second subject is also a black male, 18-25 years old, 5’7”, slender build, and dark clothing.

October 16, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case #2000-5371

Between the hours of 10:00 AM on October 1st 2000 and 11:30 AM on October 9th 2000 unknown person(s) removed a Lincoln Ranger 8 Welder/Generator from the lot located at 1700 West State Street next to Rumors Nightclub. Also taken were the leads that were attached to the welder.  Estimated loss: $2200.00

October 6, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 200-225194     

Sometime during the night of September 26, 2000, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 1100 block of Crescent Dr. An 89 Pontiac Firebird was entered by prying open the corners of the T-top.  Once entry was made, a gray Pioneer AM/FM/CD player with model number DEH-600 was pried from the dash.  Also taken were a black Punch Amplifier, two (2) black 10” JL Audio Subwoofers and a black CD case with thirty (30) CD’s containing various Rapp artist.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $1765.

September 29, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-22148

At approximately 2:45 P.M., August 27, 2000 a vehicle burglary was committed in the Petro 2 parking lot, 2125 N. 9th.  While the customer was inside the business, someone entered his 2000 Ford Ranger truck and took his money.  The money was kept in a box that contained $8, 640.

September 22, 2000 Saline County Sheriff’s Office CASE # 2000-4845

Between the hours 8:00 AM on September 1st 2000 and 2:00 PM on September 14th 2000 unknown person(s) entered a shed located at 1797 E. Magnolia and removed a Ryobi 14.4 volt cordless drill along with the charger and two batteries. Also taken was a Senco air nail gun, 25 foot Stanley tape measure, and a hammer.   Estimated loss: $810.00

September 15, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-23023

Around 2:35 P.M., September 5, 2000 a Trek SLY mountain bike was stolen from the side of a house in the 400 block of W. Crawford.  The mountain bike is gray and blue with a sticker on the handle bars.   Total loss is estimated at $3,200.

September 8, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-22229

Sometime during the night of August 27, 2000, two (2) Witco “Stinger 3” power washers, were stolen from the bed of a truck.  The truck was parked at Appearance Technology, 888 N. Ohio.   Total loss is estimated $4,400.

September 1, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-4192

Between the hours of 5:00PM on August 12th 2000 and 7:00AM on August 13th 2000 unknown person(s) broke the windows out of two Peterbilt semi tractors that were parked on the lot of Midwest Kenworth located at 2301 North Ohio. Taken from both trucks was a CB radio of unknown brand. Also taken from one of the trucks was a portable CD player of unknown brand and $50.00 cash.  Estimated loss: $1000.00

August 25, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-20827

On August 14, 2000 at approximately 9:28 P.M., a Sexual Battery was committed in the 1300 block of E. Iron.  A woman was walking westbound when she saw a white male approaching her from the opposite direction.  As the male came near the woman, he inappropriately grabbed her.  The male is described as late 20’s to early 30’s, 5’8”, 130 pounds, short dark brown hair, wearing cut-off jean shorts, sleeveless T-shirt, ball cap and no shoes.

August 18, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-18552

Sometime during the night of July 21, 2000, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1600 block of Plum Street.  Entry was gained into a white 1996 Chevy Crew Cab truck owned by Ryan’s Roofing where construction equipment was stolen.  The equipment stolen was:  Two Milwaukee Hammer Drills;  Fifty Hammer Drill Bits;  Skil Circular Saw;  Two Milwaukee 3/8” Drills and Two DeWalt 3/8” Drills.  Total loss is estimated at $1,750.

August 11, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office CASE# 2000-3502

Between the hours of 8:00 PM on July 10th and 9:00 AM on July 11th 2000 unknown persons entered a trailer house located at 260 North Burma Road and removed a 17,000 BTU window air conditioner from a window on the North side of the trailer. Also taken from a shed on the property was an apartment size refrigerator, several small kitchen appliances, yard tools, picture frames, a potted plant, and several boxes containing personal files.  Estimated loss: $1,500.00

August 4, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-16234

Sometime during the night of June 28, 2000 a Business Burglary was committed at Faubion Concrete and Construction, 632 N. 5th.  Entry was gained by cutting a hole in the wall of the business.   Once inside, the following items were taken:   1. Three Mason swords; 2 Five Samurai swords; 3 Remington 870 shotgun; 4 Several Cutlery knives; 5 Approximately $40 in quarters.   Total loss and damage is estimated at $4,715.

July 28, 2000   Salina Police Department             Case# 2000-18353

Sometime during the night of July 20, 2000 a Business Burglary was committed at Tony’s Auto Repair, 639 Barney.  Entry was gained by forcing open the front door.  Once inside, the following items were taken:  1.  Several different types of “Snap-on” wrenches and ratchets 2.  An OTC Monitor II engine scanner 3.  Several Craftsman tools.  Total loss is estimated at $4,438.

July 21, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office CASE # 2000-3618

Between the hours of 10:30 AM and 6:45 PM on July 16th 2000 unknown person(s) entered a residence located at 5173 North Donmyer Rd and removed a New England Firearms Model R92 .22 caliber revolver, and 500 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition.   Estimated loss: $242.00

July 14, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-17141

On Friday, June 7, 2000, officers of the Salina Police Department were sent to the 700 block of N. Santa Fe in reference to a subject being shot with a semi-automatic pistol.  Martin Ramon Porras-Cordero is being sought in connection with this incident. Porras-Cordero is described as a Hispanic male, 27 years old, 5’11” tall, approximately 170#, with black hair and brown eyes.  He is to be considered armed and dangerous. 

July 7, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-14964

Between June 11th and June 16th, 2000, a Coleman PowerMate Generator, red in color was stolen from an enclosed trailer parked at 742 N. 11th.  The generator is described as 16 or 18 horsepower, and is both electric and pull start.   The generator is valued at approximately $2000.

 June 30, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-1417

Between the hours 9:30 PM on March 26, 2000 and 6:50 Am on March 27, 2000 unknown person (s) stole a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Station Wagon from the parking lot of Phillips Lighting located at 3861 South Old 81 Highway. The vehicle was later found in McPherson County burned.  Estimated loss: $1500.00

June 23, 2000 Salina Police Department Case#2000-14354

Sometime during the night of June 10, 2000 a large plate glass window was broken at the Salvation Army, 157 S. 5th.  A brick was thrown through the window located at the front of the business facing 5th street.   Total damage is estimated at $1,000.

June 16, 2000  Salina Police Department Case# 2000-13797

Between June 2, and June 4, 2000 a boat and trailer were stolen while parked in the 2100 block of Leland Way.  The boat and trailer were located at the rear of a residence.  The boat is a gray 1994 eight foot fiberglass two-man Buster Boat and was sitting on a gray 5 foot by 14 foot trailer.  Total loss is estimated at $1,000.

June 9, 2000 Saline County Sheriff Office Case# 2000-2645

Between the hours of 9:30 PM on May 27th 2000 and 9:00 AM on May 28th 2000 unknown person(s) entered a trailer that was used as a office at Kamikaze Paintball Park located at 3550 South Cunningham Road and removed 7 paintball guns, several cases of paintballs, Co2 pressure bottles, and other paintball equipment. The paintball guns were Tippman, Scorpion, Piranha, and Black Widow Spider brand guns.   Estimated loss: $1735.00

June 2, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 200-11066

At approximately 3:00 A.M., May 8, 2000 an Attempted Burglary was committed at the Salina Municipal Golf Course, 2500 E. Crawford.  The alarm at the business was activated, and upon the officers arrival, a 4’ x 5’ dual paned tinted window was found broken on the south side of the building.  Total damage is estimated at $750.

May 26, 2000 Salina Police Department Cases# 2000-10858; 2000-10886

Sometime during the night of May 5, 2000, two vehicles were damaged while parked in the 200 block of N. 10th.   Both vehicles had scratch marks in the paint along the entire width of the driver’s side.  The vehicles are a green 1998 Pontiac Sunfire and a maroon 99 Dodge Ram Pickup.  Total damage is estimated at $4,000.

May 19, 2000 Saline County Sheriff Office Case# 2000-2222

Between the hours of 12:00 P.M. on May 3, 2000, and 6:30 P.M. on May 5, 2000 unknown person(s) removed a black leather case containing a Sony Digital camcorder with flip out screen and accessories from a 1993  Ford F250 pickup that was either parked at Vulcan Manufacturing located at 1007 West North Street in Salina or while it was parked in front of 216 East 1st Street in New Cambria, Kansas.  Estimated loss: $1,200.00.

May 12, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-10759

Sometime during the early morning hours of May 5, 2000 a Business Burglary was committed at Outlaws, 1125 W. South.   Entry was gained by forcing open the back door.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,185.

May 8, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-7917

On April 5, 2000 at approximately 2:49 A.M., a front and back windshield was shattered on a green 1993 Ford Probe while it was parked at 1211 Sunrise Dr. The windows were shattered by bricks being thrown at them which also caused several scratches in the paint.  Total damage is estimated at $2,240.

April 28, 2000 Saline County Sheriff’s Office  Case# 2000-1803

Between the hours of 8:00 AM on March 1st, 2000 and 6:00 PM on April 14th 2000 unknown person(s) entered a large metal storage building located at 213 North Main in Bridgeport, Kansas and removed a Valve Seat Grinding Stone Set, 16 inch Chevy 8 bolt wheels and tires, large block and tackle sets, chrome valve covers for a Chevy 350 motor, and misc. wrenches and other mechanic tools.  Estimated loss: $1080.00

April 21, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-8860

At approximately 6:39 A.M., April 15, 2000 a robbery was committed at the Iron Pump, 418 E. Iron.  A black male, described as 6’2”, 250 in his 30’s, walked in the store and placed a pack of cigarette on the counter to purchase them.  When the clerk attempted to ring up the item, the black male pushed her away and grabbed the money from the register and ran out the door.

April 14, 2000 Salina Police Department Case #2000-8163

Sometime during the night of April 7, 2000 a red and black 1999 Yamaha Banshee 350 cc All Terrain four-wheel vehicle was stolen from the bed of a truck.  The ATV was tied down in the truck, which was parked in the driveway in the 500 block of Berkshire.   Total loss is estimated at $6,200.

April 7, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office CASE # 2000-1564

Between the hours of 8:00 AM on March 27th 2000 and 12:00 PM on April 2nd 2000 unknown person(s) removed a 1991 Yamaha 4 wheeler from a shed at 1505 South Muir Road.  The 4 wheeler is red in color with gold wheels, and has luggage racks on the front and back.   Estimated loss: $1500.00

March 31, 2000  Salina Police Department  Case# 2000- 6438

Between March 18, and March 20, 2000 a green and white Sullair 150 pull type air compressor was stolen from the parking lot of 2106 S. 9th.    The compressor is owned by Harbin Construction.  The compressor had two tool boxes that contained two 90 pound jackhammers, 300 foot of hose and ten bits. Total loss is estimated at $3,700.

March 24, 2000  Salina Police Department Case# 2000-5678

Sometime during the night of March 10, 2000 seven vehicles were damaged while parked at Bennett Autoplex, 651 S. Ohio.  The vehicles were parked in the back lot of the business.  It appears that most of the damage occurred when the vehicle doors were pried on with a metal object or the door window was shattered.  Once inside, many items were moved about or thrown outside.   In one vehicle, the ignition lock was broken.   Total damage is estimated at $2,250.

March 17, 20000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-1187

Between the hours of 11:00 AM on March 11th 2000 and 10:00 AM on March 13th 2000 unknown person(s) removed a 16 foot tandem axle flatbed trailer from Stress Cast Inc. located at 644 east Salemsborg Road. The trailer is medium blue in color, has a wooden floor and the trailer was made by Ark City Trailer Company.   Estimated loss: $1033.00

March 10, 2000  Salina Police Department Case# 2000-2419

 Between January 29, and January 31, 2000 a vehicle burglary was committed in the 1200 block of Cloud Circle.  Entry was gained by breaking a back door glass on a 1999 Chevy Van owned by Multimedia Cable Vision.  Once inside,   thirty negative cable filters and two converter boxes were stolen from the van.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,170.

March 3, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-4381

 Sometime during the night of February 24, 2000 a 1993 Ford F-150 truck was stolen from the 200 block of N. Penn St. The vehicle was parked on the street with the keys left in the ignition. Later on that morning, the vehicle was found in a field at the end of Circle Drive.  The vehicle was running and backed into the wooded area by the creek.  The gear was in reverse and an object had been placed on the gas pedal in an unsuccessful attempt to drive it into the creek.  A small tree stopped the vehicle from going into the creek.  Missing from the vehicle are two Rockford Fosgate 12 “ speakers, a Rockford Fosgate 500 Watt amplifier and a Pyramid 300 Watt amplifier.

 Total loss and damage is estimated at $8,700.

 

February 25, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 99-5262

Between the hours of 4:15 PM on November 5, 1999 and 7:30 AM on November 6,1999 unknown person(s) removed a 40 ton Walker brand floor jack, blue in color, heavy duty black and red jumper cables, log chain, misc. tools, and keys to John Deer construction equipment from a new bridge construction site located in the 5000 block of East Rose Hill Road.  Estimated loss: $1520.00

February 18, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 99-32125

Between December 16 and December 22, 1999 a burglary was committed at Consolidated Iron and Metal, 804 N. 8th. Entry was gained by forcing open a door and once inside the following items were taken:

1. Two 1" Chicago Pneumatic Air Drive Impact Wrenches

2. Eight 1" to 2" "Snap On" wrench sets

Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,603.

February 11, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-2412

Sometime during the night of January 30, 2000 a vehicle burglary was committed at 653 Jaran. Entry was gained into a purple 92 Geo Storm by breaking a window on the vehicle. Once inside, the following items were taken:

1. Pioneer AM/FM CD Player with a detachable face plate.
2. Two Precision Power Art Series Amps
3. Three JL speakers in a plywood speaker box with a mirrored plexiglass interior.
4. Two red painted Lightning Caps cylinder compositors.

Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,300.

February 4, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#2000-254

Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2000, and 12:00 p.m. on January 16, 2000, unknown persons entered Ash Enterprises located at 1100 West Grand @1.  The following items were removed from the business: A Coleman 4000 watt generator, green in color, three new DeWalt cordless drills and their battery chargers, a DeWalt reciprocal saw, Makita battery charger, and A Makita 4 inch grinder.  Estimated loss: $1270.00.

January 28, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 2000-1247

Sometime during the night of January 15, 2000 a burglary and arson were committed at Images Incorporated, 108 S. 4th. There were no signs of forced entry into the building, but approximately $50 in cash and checks written to the business are missing from the cash register. A fire was also started in the business which engulfed a large portion of the building. Total loss and damage is estimated at $300,000.

January 21, 2000 Salina Police Department Case # 99-32707

Between December 18, and December 29, 1999, a residential burglary was committed at 1404 S. 11th. Entry was gained by forcing open the front door and once inside the following items were taken:

1. Several pieces of gold bracelets, rope chains and rings.
2. JVC Video Camera with case
3. RCA Walkman with CD player
4. Thirty compact discs with a carrying case

Total loss and damage is estimated at $6,504.

January 14, 2000 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2000-116

Between 11:15pm on January 8th 2000 and 1:30am on January 9th 2000 unknown person(s) entered 1998 Dodge Stratus located at Randy’s Club 1604 West State Street and stole a silver and gray ladies purse.   The purse contained video rental cards, photographs and an antique ladies watch.  The watch was gold in color with 10 diamonds and 10 sapphires on the face of the watch.  Estimated loss: $911.00

January 7, 2000 Salina Police Department Case# 1999-32861

Sometime during the night of December 30, 1999 a Burglary was committed at the Emanuel Four Square Church, 1325 E. Cloud. There were no signs for forced entry on the outside of the building, however, the main office door had been forced open and the following items were taken:

1. Approximately $5,200 in cash
2. Gray 2 ‘ by 2 ‘ safe with a mail slot
3. Pad of Emanuel Four Square business checks
4. JVC Digital Video Camera

Total loss and damage is estimated at $6,505.
