December 26, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-33843

Between December 19, and December 23, 2003 a Burglary to a storage facility was committed in the 1000 block of York St..  Entry was gained by cutting a pad lock.  Once inside, a maroon and yellow 2002 Bombardier jet skis were stolen.  The jet skis were on a Watercraft trailer which was also taken.  Total loss is estimated at $15,400.

December 19, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-32196

Sometime during the night of December 1, 2003 an Aggravated Arson was committed in the 1200 block of N. 7th.  Three Molotov cocktails were thrown at a residence in an attempt to set it on fire.  The bottles were filled with flammable liquid with a rag sticking out of the top.  The rag was then set on fire and the bottles were thrown at the residence.  Luckily the flammable liquid burned out without setting the house on fire.

December 12, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-5276

Between the hours of 5:30 PM on November 27th and 11:00 AM on November 28th 2003 unknown person(s) removed a Pressure Washer from a shed located on the grounds of Farmers & Ranchers Livestock Commission at 1500 West Old 40 Hwy. The Pressure Washer is a Shark brand Model B30035H with an 11 horsepower Honda motor. The Pressure Washer was rented from Construction Rental Company in Salina.  Estimated loss: $2000.00

 

December 5, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-29656

Between October 29, and October 30, 2003 a Residential Burglary was committed in the 2000 block of Raymond.  Entry was gained through the back door of the residence. Once inside, a Canon GLT2 camcorder was stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $2,400.

November 28, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-30995

Sometime during the night of November 17, 2003, several vehicle windows were shattered by shooting with a BB gun.  A total of twenty-nine vehicles were damaged throughout the central part of Salina.  Total damage is estimated to be in excess of $8,154.

November 21, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-4995

On November 7th 2003, at about 11:30 PM, two unknown persons broke into the Pantry Plus convenience store located at 2124 N. Hedville Rd. Once inside the store they took 17 cartons of cigarettes and a case of beer.  Estimated loss: $1100.00

 

November 14, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-29531

Sometime during the night of October 31, 2003 several tires were punctured on vehicles located at three used car dealerships in the north part of Salina.   A total of 64 tires were damaged on 41 vehicles at Hico Motor Company, GT Auto Sales and Brittendall Motor Company.  Total damage is estimated in excess of $1,500.

November 7, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-28944

Sometime during the night of October 25, 2003 a horse trailer was stolen while parked in the lot of I-70 Amoco, 2230 N. 9th.    It is described as an enclosed 5th wheel white Spencer six horse trailer.  Total loss is estimated at $35,600.

October 31, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-4808

Between October 12th and October 27th 2003 unknown person(s) stole a 2002 Honda ES Rancher 4-Wheeler that is red in color from 801 West Ottawa Road in Saline County.  Estimated loss: $5400.00

October 24, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-20180

Sometime during the night of July 27, 2003, a red Honda 5000 watt gas powered generator was stolen from a fenced lot at 216 E. Pacific.  Entry was gained by cutting a hole in the chain link fence.  Once inside, a chain had been cut that fastened the generator to the rear of a vehicle.

October 17, 2003, Salina Police Department Case# 2003-27679

Sometime during the night of October 12, 2003 a Burglary was committed at Primetime Convenience Store, 100 N. Broadway.  Entry was gained by breaking a door glass, and once inside, several cartons of Marlboro and Marlboro Light cigarettes were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,160.

October 10, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-4343

Between September 27th, and September 29th, 2003, someone took a 2003 Fast line black colored 5’x10’ tilt-bed trailer, a yellow colored 2002 Polaris 500cc ATV, and red colored 2001 Polaris Scrambler 90cc ATV from the lot of Straub International at 3637 S. 9th St.  Estimated loss: $9050.00

October 3, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-22382

On August 19, 2003, a theft of computer equipment was committed at South High School, 730 E. Magnolia.  The items stolen were a Tungten T handheld palm pilot, a Rayteck mini infrared thermometer and two QuickCam Zoom Web cameras from the Technology Department.  Total loss is estimated at $1,500.

September 26, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-24404

On September 8, 2003 at approximately 1:15 A.M., a Theft of cigarettes was committed at Walmart, 2900 S. 9th.  Two black males entered the store and one of the males started distracting the clerk while other male went to the cigarette aisle.  The male grabbed approximately 144 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes and put them in large blue tote bags.  The males then exited the store.  Total loss is estimated at $5,800.

September 19, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-3977

On Friday, September 5th, 2003, between 7:00 PM and 10:30 PM, unknown person(s) entered the residence at 3757 E. Country Club Rd.  Taken from the residence were 40 DVD movies, six Sony Play station 2 computer games, one K-State sweatshirt, and a Central High School football championship ring. Estimated loss: $1200.00

September 12, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-23144

On August 27, 2003 at approximately 12:23 A.M., an Attempted Robbery was committed in the 500 block of W. Ash.  A 19-year-old man was on his front porch when he noticed a black male and two Hispanic males near the street.  One of the Hispanic males was on a trick style bicycle.  The black male ran up to the man and shoved him against his door demanding money.  The black male then punched the man in the mouth.  While scuffling on the porch, a witness yelled out that she was calling the police.  The suspects were last seen running northbound from the area.

September 5, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-22975

Sometime during the day of August 25, 2003, two electronic balance scales were stolen from a classroom at Central High School, 650 E. Crawford.  The brand name is “Frey Scientific Electronic Balance Scale” and they were sitting on a desk when stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $1,000.

August 29, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-3192

Between the hours of 6:15 PM and 7:30 PM on July 23rd 2003 unknown person(s) took a 2000 Toyota RAV Sport Utility Vehicle from 1999 Gray Road in Saline County and drove it to the 2100 block of Solomon Road and pushed it in to the Smoky Hill River. Prior to the vehicle going into the river an Alpine stereo system was removed from the vehicle and the windows were broken out.  Approximately ¼ mile away from the location the vehicle was put in the river, a large stack of hay bales were set on fire in Dickinson County. The bales were set on fire about the same time as the vehicle was put in the river.  Estimated loss of vehicle: $15,900.00

August 22, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-1856

Between June 15, 2003 and July 15, 2003, a large amount of cash was stolen from a business file cabinet located at OCCK, Inc., 1710 W. Schilling Rd.  A total of $3,000 was kept in a file cabinet in a back office before the theft was committed.

August 15, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-21509

Sometime during the night of August 9, 2003, a single round from a small caliber weapon was fired at an occupied residence in the 1300 block of Ponca.  The bullet passed through the front door, through a vacuum cleaner that was near the door, through a closet wall and came to rest on the closet floor.  The residence was occupied by a 35-year-old woman at the time of occurrence.  Total damage is estimated at $170.

August 8, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-2747

Between the hours of 4:00PM on June 21st and 8:00AM on June 23rd 2003 unknown person(s) removed 5 Ericcson portable handheld two-way radios, 5 spare batteries, 5 chargers, and a power cord strip from St Francis Academy located at 5097 West Cloud street.  These radios are similar to those used by law enforcement.   Estimated loss: $3275.00


August 1, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-7202

Sometime during the night of March 27, 2003, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 200 block of N. Penn.  Entry was gained into an unlocked blue 95 Mazda that was parked on the street.  Once inside, the following items were stolen:  JVC brand CD player, Q-Logic speaker box with gray carpet, Jensen 600 watt and 500 watt amplifier, Two Super Blue 12” speakers, Two large black CD cases with about 400 assorted CD’s.  Total loss is estimated at $4,850.

July 25, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-19555

Sometime during the night of July 18, 2003 a cabinet located below a camcorder display case was forcibly entered and several camcorders and digital cameras were stolen from Walmart, 2900 S. 9th.  There was one Fuji, one Kodak and three Sony digital cameras stolen; three Sharp digital camcorders and one Sony CD burner.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,010.

July 18, 2003 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#2003-2942

Between the hours of 6:00 P.M. on July 9th and 11:15 A.M. on July 10th, 2003 unknown person(s) removed a 2001 John Deere Utility Tractor Model 4300 with a John Deere 430 front end loader attached to the front of the tractor from Dauer Implement located at 144 West Farrelly Road.  The tractor has a 3-point PTO and the hour meter on the tractor shows approximately 118 hours.  Estimated loss: $14,000.00.

July 11, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-170036

At approximately 1:05 A.M., June 30, 2003 a Robbery was committed at KWIK Shop, 657 Fairdale.  A white male walked into the store wearing a mask and displaying a black hand gun and demanding money from the clerk.  After obtaining the money, the male left the store in an unknown direction.  The male is described as approximately 5’10, 160, in his 20’s, blond hair wearing a dark colored long sleeve shirt and black sport’s pants. 


July 4, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-16419
 

Sometime during the night of June 24, 2003 at total of ninety-six tires were punctured at two Salina locations.  The first location was at the Chapel Ridge Apartments, 2363 Chapel Ridge Rd.  The apartment complex had thirty vehicles with punctured tires sustaining $4,515 in damage.  The second location was at the Park Lane Apartments, 737 Fairdale Rd.  The apartment complex had fourteen vehicles with punctured tires sustaining $2,410 in damage.  Total damage is estimated at $6,925.

June 27, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-173

Between September 2002 and January 2003, unknown person(s) entered the fenced in storage facility at the Great Plains Manufacturing Plant in Kipp, KS and removed a large shipping crate containing a new Land Pride model RBT-1572 rear attachment grader blade.  Estimated loss: $560.00

June 20, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-15012

Sometime during the night of June 12, 2003 a business burglary was committed at Rhino Linings, 415 N. Chicago.   Entry was gained by breaking a window.  Once inside, an ESAB brand Plasma cutter was stolen along with a Migmaster welder.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $6,880.

June 13, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-23075

Sometime during the night of May 16, 2003, a Vehicle Burglary was committed at the Best Inn, 429 W. Diamond Drive.  A work truck owned by Midwest Demolitions was forcibly entered and the following construction tools were stolen:  A remote control for a Brokk Jackhammer;  A TS400 Stahl saw;  A Milwaukee chipping hammer;  A 7 ½ inch and a 4 ½ inch Milwaukee grinder;  A 7 ¾ inch Skill saw; and A 14 inch Diamond cutting blade.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $7,300.

June 6, 2003 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2003-2108

Between May 19th and May 20th unknown persons drove into a pasture located in the 500 block of N. Woodward Rd. and stole approximately 75 Limestone rocks that were leftover from the construction at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.  The rock had been cut to various sizes and was sanded smooth.  The church had plans to use the rock to construct a new sign for the church.  Estimated loss is $1250.00

May 30, 2003, Salina Police Department Case# 2003-11841

Sometime during the night of May 13, 2003 a riding lawn mower was stolen from Orscheln, 360 N. Ohio.  Entry was gained through a fenced lot located on the northeast side of the business.  Once inside, a black 17 hp Ranch King riding mower was stolen.   Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,305.

May 23, 2003, Salina Police Department Case# 003-12567

At approximately 2:19 P.M., May 21, 2003 a Robbery was committed at Sullivan Liquor Store, 837 N. Santa Fe.  The person walked into the store, displayed a knife to the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register.  The person is described as a black male, 35 to 40 years of age, 5’8”, 160-170 pounds, short black hair, wearing a white T-shirt with red and blue designs and blue jeans.

May 16, 2003, Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2002-3068

Between July 2nd and August 14th 2002, someone entered a storage building at 432 E. Ave A. by cutting the door handle and removing a chain that secured the doors. Taken from inside the building was an orange colored gas powered Stihl brand cut-off saw, and a yellow colored Topcon brand surveyor’s transit level in a yellow colored hard shell plastic carrying case.  Estimated loss: $1600.00

May 9, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-11041

Sometime between April 29, and May 1, 2003 a theft was committed at the Salina Area Vocational Technical School, 2562 Centennial Rd.  A Vantage 5.0 Power Graphing Meter and a KV Module Kit were stolen from the Automotive Section of the school.  These instruments are used to check the engine components on a vehicle.  Total loss is estimated at $1,960.

May 2, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-7678

Sometime during the night of March 31, 2003 a Business Burglary was committed at the Bike Tek, 645 E. Crawford.  Entry was gained by breaking the front door window.   Once inside, the following items were stolen:  $439 in cash;  Haro Mirra Flair BMX bicycle;  three Hoffman BMX bicycles and three Trek BMX bicycles.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,164.

April 25, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-1140 and  2003-1141

Between March 16th and March 17th 2003, unknown person(s) entered into Scoular Elevator located at 3339 E. Country Club, and Exline Inc. located at 3256 E. County Club. Taken from Scoular Elevator were several cases of soft drinks, 2 portable handheld Motorola radios, and change from a pop machine that was broken into.  Taken from Exline Inc. were coin boxes containing coins from a soft drink machine and a snack machine, both machines were damaged when pried open. Total loss and damage is: $3704.00

April 18, 2003 Salina Police Department Case#2003-8767                                

At approximately 9:25 P.M., April 12, 2003, a Drive-By shooting was committed in the 1200 block of N. Front.  The front door of the residence was damaged from a single shotgun blast.  Two windows on the door along with a side window were shattered. A full size 80’s model Ford Bronco with silver trim on the bottom was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

April 11, 2003 Salina Police Department Case#2003-8008

At approximately 9:00 P.M., April 4, 2003 an Aggravated Robbery was committed at Sullivan Liquor Store, 837 N. Santa Fe.  A white male juvenile walked into the store and displayed a handgun while demanding money from the cash register.  The juvenile is described between 15 to 16 years old, 5’3”, 120, short blond hair wearing a blue bandana, light blue windbreaker and navy blue nylon running pants.

April 4, 2003 Salina County Sheriff's Office Case#2003-1227

Between March 13th and March 23rd, 2003, someone entered a workshop in the 200 block on N. Washington St. in Mentor Kansas. Taken from the building was a Century brand 250 volt welder and 2 sets of welder leads, several toolboxes containing hand tools, several power tools, a Duo-Fast brand pneumatic framing nail gun, and 4 Grayco brand airless paint guns. Estimated loss: $9500.00

March 28, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-2684                                

Sometime during the noon hour of February 3, 2003 a black Fox five-horse power go-cart was stolen from Tractor Supply Company, 3121 Riffel Dr.  Entry was gained by cutting a lock on the back fenced-in area.  The go-cart was then removed from a wooden crate that was sitting on a shelf. Total loss is estimated at $1,200.

March 21, 2003 Salina Police Department Case #2003-6381                                          

Sometime during the night of March 18, 2003 a business burglary was committed at Sunset Billiards, 1215 W. Crawford.   Once inside, unknown persons ransacked the office area causing damage and committing theft.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,000.

March 14, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Case# 2003-476

Between January 31st and February 1st 2003, someone took an 18-foot tandem axle utility trailer black in color with white colored rims from a construction site in the 3600 block of N. Kipp Rd. The utility trailer contained construction equipment, tools, and several 50-foot lengths of 6’ tall chain link fencing.  Estimated loss: $16,502.00

March 7, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-4697                                

Sometime during the night of February 26, 2003, three business burglaries were committed in Salina.  One of burglaries occurred at Blue Ribbon Car Wash, 612 S. Broadway.  Entry was gained by breaking a window.  Once inside, cash, music CD’s and miscellaneous chips and candy were stolen.  Three vending machines had a significant amount of damage.  Another burglary was committed at Nelson’s Auto Repair, 424 N. Front.  Entry was gained by breaking a window.  The business was rummaged through but nothing inside was missing or damaged.  The last burglary was committed at Mid-Kansas Underground, 704 E. North.  A window was also broken to gain entry.  This business was rummaged through and a computer, fax machine and other office equipment were knocked over and damaged.  Total loss is estimated at $4,860.

February 28, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-3287

Sometime during the night of February 11, 2003 an Aggravated Arson was committed at 413 E. Kirwin.  A flammable substance was thrown against the west side the house and set on fire.  The fire burned itself out without causing any major damage.  There was at least one person in the residence when the fire was started.  Total loss is estimated at $100.

February 21, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case#2003-478

Between January 15th and February 1st 2003, someone entered a residence located in the 3900 block of S. Woodward Rd and took a Browning 16 gauge shotgun, a Remington 20 gauge shotgun, a Winchester 12 gauge shotgun, a Browning .22 caliber rifle, a Marlin .22 caliber rifle, and a Stihl 16 inch chainsaw. Estimated loss: $1825.00

February 14, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-3107

On Sunday morning, February 9, 2003 at approximately 3:00 A.M., a Robbery was committed at KWIK Shop, 1121 W. Cloud.  A man walked into the store, ran around the counter, knocked down the clerk and took money from the register.  The man is described as a light skin black male, 20-25 years old, 6’1”, 200 pounds and wearing a powder blue hooded sweatshirt. 

February 7, 2003 Salina Police Department Case#2003-2830

Between January 26, and February 2, 2003, a burglary was committed to a Salina Mini Storage unit, 1122 E. Woodland.  Taken from the unit were several pieces of DJ stereo equipment owned by Complete Music, Manhattan, Kansas.  The equipment includes: Five Crate amplifiers; Four Crate speakers; American DJ dual CD Player; One hundred and eighty CD’s of top forty music; and other stereo equipment.  Total loss is estimated at $9,510.

January 31, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-171

Between the hours of 9:30 AM on January 12th and 8:30 AM on January 13th 2003 unknown person(s) removed a John Deere Model 348 Bailer from a pole shed located in the 7500 block of West State Street. The bailer is green in color.  Estimated loss: $9,000.00

January 24, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-1692

Sometime during the night of January 21, 2003, five vehicles and three businesses had their windows shot by a bb gun.  The businesses had large plate glass windows damaged and the vehicles had either the side or rear window damaged while parked on the street or driveway.  The windows were damaged throughout the Salina area.  Total damage is estimated at $3,680.

January 17, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-736

Sometime during the night of January 9, 2003 a Burglary was committed at the Driver’s License Bureau, 2910 Arnold Av.  Entry was gained by breaking a window.  Once inside, an All-Purpose workstation, Printer Tower, Encoder, Signature Tablet, Digital camera and keyboard were stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $15,050.

January 10, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2002-6122

Between the hours of 10:00 PM on December 23rd and 6:30 AM on December 24th 2002 unknown person(s) drove a vehicle across 3 of the putting greens at the Elks Country Club located at 1800 South Marymount road. Extensive damage was done to the greens by spinning their tires while driving on the greens. 2 of the flag sticks positioned on the greens were also broken.  Estimated loss: $3100.00

January 3, 2003 Salina Police Department Case# 2002-32505

Sometime during the night of December 11, 2002, a Business Burglary was committed at Lampton Welding, 109 S. Broadway.  Entry was gained by forcing open the front door, and upon entry, the following items were stolen: Thunderbolt Welder, Square Wave Welder, Two Hypertherm plasma cutters and a Handy Plasma Cutter.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $7,500.
