December 23, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-5265

Between the hours of 11:40 AM and 3:45 PM on December 9th 2004 unknown suspect(s) took a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier from the parking lot of Ell-Saline High School located at 414 east Anderson in Brookville Kansas. The vehicle is blue in color and should bear Kansas tag UJY110. Estimated loss: $ 14,000.00

December 17, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-32166

At about 11:20 PM 12-12-04, an aggravated robbery occurred at Tuscon’s, 2750 S. 9th.  The suspect, described as a black male wearing dark clothing and a ski mask was armed with a handgun.  The suspect confronted the employee and demanded money.

December 10, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-30860

Between 2:30 AM and 7:00 AM November 27, 2004, an Aggravated Residential Burglary was committed in the 600 block of Morningside.  Entry was gained through an unlocked door.  Once inside, a Sony Play station, numerous Play station games, and numerous pieces of electronic DJ equipment were stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $3205.

December 3, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-5154

Between the hours of 10:30 AM on December 1st and 9:00 AM on December 2, 2004 unknown person(s) entered a residence located at 4396 North Woodward Road and removed a Sony TV, Magnavox TV, pair of binoculars, 1940’s antique baseball glove, gold men’s wedding band, misc. women’s jewelry, 16 inch Poulan chainsaw, new set of jumper cables, and a Craftsman combination tool kit.  Estimated loss: $ 1200.00

November 24, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-29290

Between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM November 8, 2004, two vehicles were damaged while parked at the YMCA , 570 YMCA Drive.  Both vehicles had extensive scratches.  Damage is estimated at $4500.

November 19, 2004 Salina Police Department Case#   2004-28987

Around 10:25 A.M., November 5, 2004, three Salina schools received bomb threats by telephone.  The caller, who sounded like a male, called Schilling Elementary, 3121 Canterbury; Salina South High School, 730 E. Magnolia and Lakewood Middle School, 1135 Lakewood Circle.  Connecting cases: 2004-28989 and 2004-28991

November 12, 2004, Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-4798/4800/4801/4802

During the evening hours on November 9th, 2004, numerous cars were burglarized between the 2800 block and the 7100 block of W. State St. Items taken from the cars included several Music CD's, collectable pocket knives, a black vinyl carpenters tool belt with carpenters hand tools, Sony AM/FM/CD stereo, JVC AM/FM/CD stereo, a Kenwood amplifier, a Rockford Fosgate 10" speaker, and 2 - Jensen 12" speakers.  Damage to the vehicles and loss of property is estimated at: $2700.00

November 5, 2004 Saline Police Department Case# 2004-28310

Between October 27, and October 29, 2004, a burglary was committed at a storage unit located at 2700 Centennial Rd.  A padlock was cut on one of the units and two Kayaks were stolen.  Both Kayaks were fifteen foot long with one being red and the other yellow.  Total loss is estimated at $2,255.

October 29, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-27084

On October 15, 2004 at approximately 2:49 P.M., a Bank Robbery was committed at First Bank Kansas, 1333 W. Crawford.  A white male entered the bank, displayed an automatic pistol and demanded money.  The male then shot the pistol at a file cabinet that was in the direction of two tellers.  The male is described as 25 to 28 years old, 5’7”, 175, appeared tanned or applied a product on him to appear tanned and wearing a ball cap with the word “Starter 71” written on it.

October 22, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-4031 / 4033 / 4153   

Between September 18th and September 29th 2004, unknown person(s) entered 3 storage buildings at 1025 W. Grand St. Items taken from the buildings were numerous mechanics toolboxes and hand tools, Pneumatic impact wrenches and sockets, a Hypertherm Plasma cutter, a Victor Journeyman torch set, 4 - 2000 PSI compressed air tanks, 2 - ADS brand high fidelity speaker cabinets, a Crown model D-75 and D-150 commercial stereo amplifiers, a BGW model 250 amplifier, a Ingersoll-Rand 20 gallon air compressor, Toro electric hedge trimmer and a gas Homelite 16 inch chainsaw. Estimated loss: $5000.00

October 15, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-25806 & 2004-26073

Sometime during the night of September 30, 2004 and again on October 2, 2004, semi-tires were stolen from the fenced-in area of Becker Tire, 432 N. Broadway.  The first night, six used tires were stolen and the second night, four used tires were found missing.  Total loss is estimated at $1,645.

October 8, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-23828

Sometime during the night of September 11, 2004 two four wheelers were stolen from the 1000 block of E. Iron.  The four wheelers were sitting on a 5’ x 10’ homemade trailer, which was also taken.  The stolen four wheelers are a white with purple and yellow trim 1996 Polaris Scrambler and a white with yellow and red trim 2001 Polaris Trailblazer.  Total loss is estimated at $5,300.

October 1, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-3841

Between September 9th and 10th unknown person(s) entered two machine sheds located at 2841 South Burma Road and removed a large commercial pressure washer, Craftsman battery charger, Craftsman chest tool box containing hand tools, a torch set on a green cart, new Craftsman socket set in black box, two Craftsman air wrench’s, two Craftsman drill’s, Propane heater, power screwdriver, and a John Deere brand digital tire tester.  Estimated loss is $ 4,800.00

September 24, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-24009

Sometime during the night of September 12, 2004, a Business Burglary was committed at Bennett Autoplex, 651 S. Ohio.  Entry was gained by forcing open a back door.  Once inside, the following items were stolen:  White 2004 GMC pickup truck; Toshiba brand laptop computer with 17 “ monitor; A grill off a 99 Chevy Suburban, and numerous hand tools and automotive repair equipment.  Total loss is estimated at $72,100

September 17, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-24292

On September 16, 2004 at approximately 1:16 A.M., an Armed Robbery was committed at the Pho-Dem Café, 1208 S. Santa Fe.  Four men, with at least one carrying a handgun, accosted the employees as they were closing the business.  The men were wearing black ski mask with only the eyes and mouth showing.  The men demanded cash from the business and also took 30-35 packs of cigarettes, a Karaoke stereo, a computer system with a printer and jewelry.  Total loss is still being determined.

September 10, 2004 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2004-3630

Sometime between the hours of 5:00 PM on August 26th and 8:00 AM on August 27th 2004 unknown person or persons broke into O'Neil Veterinarian Clinic located at 3440 East County Club Road.  While inside subject or subjects went through desks and file cabinets and stole cash from the business.  Estimated loss is $175.00

September 3, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-18671

Sometime during the evening of July 19, 2004, a Residential Burglary was committed at 1661 W. Republic.  Entry was gained through a door.  Once inside, the following items were stolen:  1 A small safe containing approx. $1,000 in cash;  2 Silver men’s band wedding ring;  3 Ladies thin gold band ring with diamond; 4 Nine Elvis Presley stamps; and 5 other miscellaneous jewelry.  Total loss is estimated at $3,355.

August 27, 2004 Salina Police Department Case#2004-21626

Sometime during the night of August 19, 2004, a tailgate was stolen off of a red 2003 Chevy 3500 model pickup at Safelite Auto Glass, 720 N. Broadway.  The pickup was parked in the business lot when the tailgate was stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $1,000.

August 20, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-2974

Between June 30th and July 1st 2004 unknown person(s) removed a Military Small Emplacement Excavator from the Kansas Army National Guard Training Center located in the 5500 block of Englund Rd. The Emplacement Excavator was later located abandon in a pole shed two miles from the Training Center. Estimated loss: $ 110,000.00

August 13, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-18401

Around 11:27 P.M., July 16, 2004, a four foot wide by eight feet tall tempered glass door was shattered at Dillard's, 2259 S. 9th.  The damage to the door appears to have been caused by rocks being thrown at it.  Total damage is estimated at $3,000.

August 6, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-19315

Between July 16 and July 17 2004, an Ex-Mark 48" cutting deck riding lawn mower was stolen from OCCK, 1710 West Schilling Road.  The mower was sitting in the parking lot on a red H&H single axle trailer, which was also stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $4,900.00.

July 30, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-2630

Between the hours of 10:30 AM and 8:00 PM on May 23rd 2004 someone took a Billy Cook roper style saddle, a head stall bridle with copper bit snaffle and reins, and a front and back synch from a tack room in a horse trailer that was parked at Farmers & Ranchers located at 1500 West Old 40 Hwy. Estimated loss: $1070.00 dollars.

July 23, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-18809

Since July 15, 2004, the Salina Police Department has received eleven reports of vehicle windows damaged by a bb or pellet gun.  Most of the vehicles were parked on the street in the middle and south Salina area.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $$2,850.

July 16, 2004 Salina Police Department Case#   2004-16576 

Sometime between June 27, and June 30, 2004, Absolute Truck Recycle, 2410 N. 9th, has been burglarized for the second time.  The first time occurred during the weekend of June 7, where a black Chevy ¾ ton truck, five car engines and a Gateway Computer tower with a Hollander system installed were stolen.   In this burglary, a walk-in door was forced open and 5 transfer cases, 15 automatic transmissions and 15 engine computers were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $11,620.

July 9, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 04-1801 & 04-1962

In the month of June, Cargill Grain located at 1112 North Halstead Road was broken into twice and subjects stole a Dell Latitude Model D600 Lap Top Computer and two IBM 300 GL desktop computers.  Estimated loss: $2350.00
 

July 2, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-15655

Sometime during the weekend of June 19, 2004, a Business Burglary was committed at S & S Motors, 717 N. Santa Fe.  Entry was gained by forcing open a door at the rear of the business.    Once inside, a large amount of car engine parts were taken, such as, valves, rods, lifters, piston rings and bearings.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $16,377.

June 25, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-15481

On June 19, 2004, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 100 block of S. 8th.  Entry was gained into a red City Plumbing GMC van by breaking the rear window and prying open the door.  Once inside, a Purox acetylene torch and a Robinair Freon Recovery Machine were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,900.

June 18, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-1247

Between October 8th 2003, and May 2nd, 2004, someone entered a shed in the 9800 block of S. Whitmore Rd. and took two air compressors, 3 toolboxes containing hand tools, two John Deere wheels and tires, a fence winder, 12 foot grain auger, two  Handyman 4-ton jacks, and a battery charger. Estimated loss: $1700.00

June 11, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-14320

Sometime during the weekend of June 7, 2004 a Burglary was committed at Absolute Truck Recycle, 2410 N. 9th.  Entry was gained by forcing open a door to the business.  Once inside, a Gateway computer tower, with a Hollander System installed, was stolen.  The system was capable of finding used motor vehicle parts in other locations.  A black 2000 Chevy ¾ ton truck was stolen from the front of the business along with five car engines from the back shop area.  Total loss is estimated at $43,626.

June 4, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-4183                 

Sometime during the night of February 20, 2004, a red Duer Log Splitter was stolen from the 1000 block of N. 10th.  The log splitter was on a two-wheeled trailer and the carburetor and tank had a bright orange color.  Total loss is estimated at $1,400.

May 28, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-2115

Between May 23rd and May 25th, 2004, someone took a white and purple Shorelander single-axle trailer with two red and white 1996 Kawasaki 750 Jet Skis from the 1800 block of S. Lightville Rd.  Estimated loss: $3600.00

May 21, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-8101 & 2004-8750

During the first part of April 2004, Becker Tire, 432 N. Broadway, had a storage facility forcibly entered and tractor tires stolen.  The first time was over the weekend beginning on April 2, 2004 when four Cooper semi-tires were stolen.  The next weekend, the facility was again entered and eight Bandag retread semi-tires were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,528.

May 14, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-10958

Between the hours of midnight on May 4 and 6:30AM on May 5, 2004, three vehicles were damaged in the 400 block of S. 8th street.  The vehicles, a 1991 Nissan Maxima, a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup, and a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, were damaged by pouring an unknown chemical on the paint and letting the air out of the tires.  Damage to the three vehicles is estimated at $ 3,000.00.

 

May 7, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-1607

Between April 26th and April 27th 2004 unknown person(s) broke into Scoular Grain located at 3339 East Country Club Road.  Taken were two Motorola portable two way radio’s, six batteries, two chargers and four radio holders.  The estimated loss is  $ 2260.00

April 30, 2004 Salina Police Department Case#  2004-9356

The Salina Police Department received nineteen cases of windows being damaged on twenty-one vehicles.  This occurred during the night of April 17, 2004 where windows were being shot with a bb or pellet gun.   Most of the vehicles were located on the east side of the city.  Total damage to the windows is estimated at $4,000.

April 23, 2004 Salina Police Department  Case# 2004-9119

At approximately 11:30 P.M., April 15, 2004, an Aggravated Battery was committed at the Vagabond Motel, 217 S. Broadway.  A motel clerk was standing behind the counter in the lobby when a bullet was fired from a high powered weapon.  The bullet was fired from Broadway Street and went through a large plate glass window and out another window narrowly missing the clerk’s head. Some of the bullet fragments did lodge in the clerk’s chest. Total damage to the windows is estimated at $600.

April 16, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-1268

Between March 20th and April 3rd, 2004, unknown person(s) entered a residence and storage shed in the 10,000 block of E. Mentor road. Taken from the property was a Stihl 16" chainsaw, a two-wheel dolly, a Montgomery Ward 2000 watt gas powered generator, a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga pump shotgun, 1/2" air impact wrench and a 1/4" air wrench, a Craftsman 9 volt cordless drill, and two toolboxes containing various brand hand tools.   Estimated loss: $2500.00

April 9, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-4816

Sometime during the night of February 27, 2004, a Residential Burglary was committed in the 400 block of E. Prescott.  Entry was gained by breaking out a door window.  Once inside, the residence was ransacked by breaking a Sharp stereo component system and a GPX stereo component system.  Taken from the residence was a Sony DVD player, a Sanyo VCR, a 27” Sony television, a “Death Row” silver and gold chain and around $500 in cash.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,500.

April 2, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-7274

At approximately 3:00 A.M., March 27, 2004 an Aggravated Burglary was committed at the Kraft Manor Apartments, 1833 S. 9th.  An unknown white male entered into a woman’s apartment while she was sleeping on the couch and cut her with a knife.  The woman suffered a knife wound to her left hand.  The woman started screaming and the male left the apartment in an unknown direction.

March 26, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-2999

Between July 10th and July 12th 2003, someone entered a shed at 1438 W. Old HWY 40 and took a large blue colored toolbox. The toolbox contained a 1" drive socket set and several other large hand tools used to service a concrete crushing machine. A hoist or skid loader would have needed to be used in order to lift and move the toolbox from the shed.  Estimated loss: $1500.00

March 19, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-1429

Sometime during the night of January 18, 2004 a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1900 block of Glendale.  Entry was gained to a green 1987 Volkswagen Golf by breaking a window.  Once inside, several pieces of Alpine and Rockford Fosgate stereo equipment were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3,225.

March 12, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-5571

At approximately 11:20 P.M., March 8, 2004 a 16-year-old female was sexually assaulted in the 2900 block of Georgia while she was walking to her home.  The assailant first had pulled a knife on the victim demanding money and jewelry. 

The person is described as a white male, 600-602, older (possible in his 40's), skinny with long, straight, shaggy brown hair and a short or new growth goatee. The eyebrows are bushy and close together and he had hairy arms. He was wearing a red T-shirt and light colored blue jeans with holes in the knees.

March 5, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-627

Between January 15th and February 15th 2004, unknown person(s) were trespassing at a hunting and fishing cabin located in the 3800 block of South Woodward road. During this time the cabin caught fire and was burned to the ground under suspicious circumstances. A large propane cylinder and propane heater was found in the burnt debris that did not belong on the property.  Estimated loss: $65,000

February 27, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-2418

Sometime during the evening on January 30, 2004, a Sony Brand 42” plasma television was stolen from Sears, 2259 S. 9th.  The television was out on display in the Electronics Department when it was stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $6,000.

February 13, 2003 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-79

Between the hours of 11:00 PM on January 5th and 7:00 AM on January 6th 2004 unknown person(s) removed a Pioneer CD player, 2 Xploid 12 inch speakers, and an Xploid amp from a vehicle that was parked at 5400 West Stimmel Rd.  Estimated loss: $ 500.00

February 6, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-34194

Between December 24, and December 27, 2003 a residential burglary was committed in the 900 block of E. Ellsworth.  Entry was gained by forcing open the back door.  Once inside, the following items were stolen:  Several Hot Wheels collectible cars;  A Nine inch Magnavox TV/VCR combo;  Several US Mint Proof  coin sets;  A “brushed gold” wedding ring with ½ carrot diamond setting;  Two Cobra 18 channel 2 way radios with chargers and One antique wood handkerchief box.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,800.

January 30, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-765

Sometime during the evening on January 10, 2004, a Residential Burglary was committed in the 1300 block of Derby.  Entry was gained by forcing open the backdoor, and once inside, the following items were stolen:  Hewlett Packard Omni Book 6000 laptop computer;  Ladies watch and Eleven DVD movies.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,961.

January 23, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2004-160

Between January 9th and January 12th 2004, someone entered Southeast of Saline School and took two moneybags from the front office that contained cash, checks, and money orders.  Estimated loss: $4000.00

January 16, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2004-859

On January 12, 2004 at approximately 2:05 A.M., an Aggravated Robbery was committed at 113 W. Ellsworth.  Entry was gained by forcing open the front door and five people entered the residence with two carrying a handgun.  The robbers searched the residence and stole money and jewelry.  The robbers (wearing masks) were described as 4 white males and 1 black male.  Total loss is estimated at $190.

January 9, 2004 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2003-4989

Between November 3rd 2003, and November 7th, 2003, unknown person(s) removed two toolboxes from the bed of a pickup truck parked in the 200 Block of E. Berg Rd. The toolboxes contained assorted mechanics hand tools and car parts.   Estimated loss: $1680.00

January 2, 2004 Salina Police Department Case# 2003-33886

Sometime during the night of December 22, 2003, a riding lawn mower and trailer were stolen from a fenced in lot at M & D Enterprises, 1617 S. 9th.  A padlock had been cut to gain entry.  The mower is described as a Toro Z Master 62” cut promotional mower.  Total loss is estimated at $5,303.
