December 29, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-5615

On December 5th, 2006 unknown person(s) entered 5001 E Country Club Road and removed firearms and jewelry from the residence.  Items that were removed consisted of a Savage .308 lever action rifle with a scope, a Browning 12 gauge auto feather weight shotgun, a Winchester .22 caliber hexagon barrel pump action rifle, Pearl necklace in a blue velvet box, gold Timex watch, Black Hills gold necklace with a pink rose, antique sunglasses, and miscellaneous gold rings and necklaces.  Estimated loss: $2958.00

December 22, 2006  Salina Police Department Case# 2006-34180 

Between 8:30 AM December 17 and 7:00 AM December 18, 2006, a theft was committed at United Methodist Church of the Cross, 1600 Rush Street.  Unknown persons took three statutes from the Nativity scene from the lawn of the church.  Loss is estimated at $1100.

December 15, 2006 Salina Police Department Case#   2006-32697

Between November 24 and November 27, 2006, a burglary was committed in the 3100 blk. of Enterprise Dr.  Unknown persons forced open a white pull trailer and removed the following items:  1-spool of number 6 bare copper wire; 1-spool of number 8 black insulated stranded wire; 1-spool of number 6 insulated stranded wire and  1-spool of number 2 insulated stranded wire.  The loss is estimated at over $3300.

December 8, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-5185

Between November 7th and November 9th, 2006 unknown suspects broke into a metal farm shed, located in the 3000 block of South Burma Road.  Once inside the building, the suspects removed a red Craftsman tool box containing numerous Craftsman hand tools and two Craftsman ½” and 3/8” drills, still in the cases.  The suspects removed the items through the overhead doors, into a waiting vehicle.  Total loss and damage is $1276.00

December 1, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-32611

During the nighttime hours of November 28, 2006 a Residential Burglary was committed in the 400 block Franklin.  Unknown persons entered the residence and removed the following items:  1-Vizio 42” Plasma TV with remote;  1-Pioneer bookshelf stereo;  1-Denon home theater system with DVD player;  1-Apple Nano IPOD; and  1-Justin Timberlake CD.  The loss is estimated at $2900.

November 24, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-31367 

Between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM November 14, 2006, a burglary was committed in the 1100 blk. of State.  Unknown persons entered the residence and once inside removed the following items:  1-Sony Playstation 2; 50-Sony Playstation games.  The loss is estimated at $1150.

November 17, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-4348

On September 20th, 2006 unknown suspects shot a 4 year old Dachshund named Elkie in the 8000 block of South Amos Road.  The owner of the dog was present at the time the dog was shot.  The owner described the suspects as two white males driving a tan or green colored hatch back car.  The car had chrome rims and had either a rear spoiler or the rear part of the trunk was painted black.  The driver of the car exited the car and shot the dog and then returned to the car.

November 10, 2006 Salina Police Department  Case# 2006-28088

Between September 9 and October 9, 2006, a residential burglary was committed in the 800 block of Osage.  Unknown persons forced open a back door and entered the residence.  Once inside, the following items were removed: 1-Glock model 17 9mm handgun with 2 magazines;  1-Ruger model GP100 .357 6” stainless steel revolver and $125 cash.  The loss is estimated at $1215.

November 3, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-28399

Between 12:00 midnight and 12:00 noon, October 15, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1200 block of Yale.  Unknown persons entered the locked Frito Lay delivery van and removed $1800 cash from inside of the vehicle.

October 27, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-4585

Between the dates of September 4th and September 5th, 2006 unknown suspect(s) burglarized an RSMS building which is a private company that does maintenance work for the National Guard located at 3600 Airport Rd in Saline County.  Stolen was a contractors torch kit, ½ to 1 inch Reduced Shank bits, a 7 inch grinder, a 7 ¼ inch worm drive saw, and numerous hand tools.  The estimated loss from this burglary is $1,570.00.

October 20, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-28385

Between 10:30 PM October 14 and 4:45 AM October 15, 2006, a burglary was committed at Tom’s Appletree, 2450 S. 9th.  Unknown persons forcibly entered the business and once inside removed a metal rolling cart and a metal safe which contained cash and checks.  Total loss is estimated at over $4500.

October 13, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-12045

Between October 1 and October 8, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 100 block of N. Broadway.  Unknown persons entered a locked work vehicle and removed the following items:  1- Raise Rite Power pump w/8.5 HP motor;  1- H and R 20 gauge shotgun;  2- Pellet rifles; and numerous hand tools.  The value of items are estimated at over $11000.

October 6, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-3698 

Sometime between August 10th at 5:10 PM and August 11th at 5:20 AM unknown person(s) entered Smokey Valley Concrete at 1700 West State and removed the following items: a Control Solutions brand computer tower specially used to mix concrete, a Envision brand computer tower, a Acer 19” LCD flat screen monitor, a fluke tester with case, an Uniden brand silver and black cordless phone, a flash drive 16B, an atomic clock silver in color, a wireless notebook adapter, 2 GE brand portable radios, 2 Vertex brand portable radios, miscellaneous cash, and personal checks and credit cards.  Estimated loss:  $10,081.00 

September 29, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-26293

During the nighttime hours of September 23, 2006 a Vehicle Burglary was committed at Ashley Furniture 2534 S. 9th.  Unknown persons forced open the rear door of a delivery truck and removed the following items:  1-Beige dual reclining sofa sleeper sectional, 1-Dining room flip top storage table, and 1-Orange and Black power drill.  The loss and damage is estimated at $1900

September 22, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-4338

Between September 13th and September 20th, 2006 unknown person(s) entered the residence at 4897 N Powers Road and stole firearms (consisting of a Stevens Savage 20 Ga. double barrel shotgun, Marlin .30/.30 rifle with scope, Remington 66 Mohawk .22 rifle with scope), a Canon ATI 35 MM camera, computer equipment, home stereo equipment, credit cards, and power tools.   Estimated loss:  $6,199.86 

September 16, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office

Between the date of September 5th and September 6th, 2006 unknown suspect(s) burglarized a construction storage trailer located at a new home under construction at 327 N. Holmes Rd., Salina, KS.  Taken was a Dewalt compound mitre saw, 3 Hitachi nail guns, a Milwaukee circular saw, a Dewalt circular saw, a Dewalt table saw, a Remington concrete nailer, a Milwaukee 18 volt cordless drill, 3 extension cords, a 10” diamond blade for a table saw, a 7 ¼ diamond blade for a handsaw, and other miscellaneous hand tools.   Estimated loss: $3,030.00

September 8, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-22850

Between 5:30 PM August 18 and 12:30 PM August 19, 2006, a theft was committed at City Wide Self Storage, 440 N. Ohio.  Unknown persons removed a 5’ X 8’ single axle enclosed U-Haul trailer from the front lot.  The trailer is orange in color and was bearing Oregon tag FRO4758 and has trailer ID # AV4869B.  The trailer is valued at $1000.

September 1, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-23356

During the nighttime hours of August 25, 2006,  damage to property was committed at Salina South High School, 730 E. Magnolia Rd.  Unknown persons broke two windows on the northeast side of the school with an unknown type firearm.  A rear window on a white Dodge van parked on the east side of the school was also damaged by the suspects.  The loss is estimated at over $1800.

August 25, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-3183 

On July 13th, 2006 unknown suspect(s) entered the residence at 3796 W Lockard Road, Salina, KS and stole a Ruger .270 rifle, a Mossburg 12 gauge shotgun, a S & W .38 special revolver, a S & W .357 revolver with a 6” barrel, a S & W .357 revolver with a 3” barrel, a jar of miscellaneous coins, personal checks, a Cannon camcorder, and a home stereo.  Estimated loss:  $2,455.00   

August 18, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-20846

Between July 24 and August 1, 2006, a felony theft was committed at J.C. Penney, 2259 S. 9th.  Unknown persons opened a locked display cabinet and removed eight (8) Casio wrist watches.  The loss is estimated at $1300

August 11, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# Multiple

Between July 1 and August 9, 2006, 66 police reports were filed involving the spray painting of graffiti on motor vehicles, businesses, public buildings, and private residences. These crimes have occurred throughout the city of Salina.  Using red, black, or blue paint, the graffiti vandals deface property by spray painting terms that include SUR 13, OGC, EPIC, Sleepy, and YV 13.  Total damage is estimated at over $7000.

August 4, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-17168

Between 10:30 PM June 29 and 9:00 AM June 30, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 100 block of W. Wilson; Unknown persons entered the locked vehicle and removed the following items:  1- Black and white purse and contents,    $1500 in cash and a Sirius Satellite radio.  The loss and damage is estimated at over $2400.

July 28, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-19516

Between 5:00 PM July 20 and 7:00 AM July 21, 2006, a burglary was committed at the REMAX Advantage Realty, 415 E. Iron.  Unknown persons forced entry into the business and removed the following items:  1-HP Laptop computer and 1-HP 17” color monitor.  Loss and damage is estimated at $4300.

July 21, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-17164

Between 4:00 PM June 29 and 6:00 AM: June 30, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 1900 block of E. North.  Unknown persons entered the locked recreational vehicle and removed the following items:  1- Silver DVD player; 1- VCR; 1- Black men’s size XL leather jacket; 1- Pair of binoculars; and $15 in change.  The loss and damage is estimated at over $1400.

July 14, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-3120 

Between June 24th, 2006 and July 9th, 2006 unknown person(s) entered 301 N Main, Glendale and removed weapons from the residence.  The weapons removed from the residence consisted of a Ruger speed six revolver .357 Magnum, Mac-90 semi-auto rifle, Bushmaster AR-15 rifle, Beretta .22 single action pistol, Browning .22 target pistol, and a .38 special snub nose revolver.  Estimated loss:  $2200.00

July 7, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-17453

Between June 16 and July 2, 2006 a residential burglary was committed at the Chapel Ridge Apartments, 2363 Chapel Ridge.  Unknown persons entered an apartment and removed the following items:  1-Dell laptop computer and 1-Silver MP3 player.  Total loss is estimated at $1260

June 30, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-16251

Between 1:30 AM and 12:00 Noon June 15, 2006, a burglary was committed in the 500 block of S. 10th.  Unknown persons entered an unsecured detached garage and removed the following items:  1-Set of Ram Made golf clubs, 1-Taylor Made golf club, 1-Black and white Nike golf bag, 1-Fishing pole and tackle box and 1-MP3 player.  The loss is estimated at $1100.

June 23, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-2415

Between June 2nd and 3rd, 2006, unknown person(s) stole a 2003 Pontiac Grand AM GT from 2158 N. Weaver Road in New Cambria. The vehicle was white with a beige interior and was later found abandoned on a city street in Manhattan, KS.  The car was found extremely muddy with damage to the windshield, a mirror, and scratches.  The damage is estimated at $1,000.00

June 16, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-13519

Between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM May 25, 2006, a theft was committed at Office Max.  Unknown persons entered the store and removed a Compaq laptop computer from the display shelf.  The computer is valued at $930.

June 9 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-14821

At about 9:58 PM June 6, 2006, an aggravated robbery was committed in the parking lot of Dillon's, 2012 S. Ohio.  A man and woman exited the store and were approached by a subject.  The subject then grabbed the woman’s purse and tried to take it from her.  The woman would not let go and was pulled to the ground and was dragged several feet before the subject let go and fled the area on foot.  The subject is described as a W/M in his 20’s, 5’9” – 5’10” tall wearing a light colored shirt, shorts, and ball ca

June 2, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-1690

Between the dates of April 20, 2006 and April 21, 2006 unknown suspect(s) burglarized a detached garage located at 504 E 2nd, New Cambria.  Taken from the garage was a DeWalt 18 volt drill, saw, and flashlight set, Craftsman 10” saw, Craftsman 10” miter saw, Bostitch brad nail gun, and a Ridgid tool die set 3/8”-2”.  Estimated loss:  $650.00

May 26, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-12045

Between 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM May 12, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 100 block of S. Chicago.  Unknown persons entered the locked vehicle and removed the following items:  1- Interceptor Body Armor; 1- Load bearing Tactical vest and 2- Camel Back water packs.  The value of items are estimated at over $1500.

May 19, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-12057

Between 3:50 PM and 5:15 PM May 12, 2006, a burglary was committed at Elam Tax Services, 1939 S. Ohio.  Unknown persons forced entry into the business through the back door.  Once inside, the subject removed a blue bank bag containing US currency.  Total loss and damage is estimated in excess of $3000.

May 12, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-1760-1870-1911-2054

Between the dates of April 23 & 24>th, April 26th & 27th, May 2nd & 4th, and May 10th & 11th, over 305 gallons of gasoline have been stolen from vehicles and a fuel storage tank at Earthcare Services located at 1777 E. Old 40 Hwy.  The estimated loss from these 4 thefts of gasoline is $826.00.

April 21, 2006 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2006-925 and 2006-1051

On March 7, 2006 and March 15, 2006 unknown suspect(s) entered the residence at 2749 North Sundowner Road in Salina, Saline County, Kansas.  Once entry was made into the residence, suspect(s) stole: a tan colored safe, cash, checks, titles, jewelry boxes and miscellaneous costume jewelry.  Estimated loss is $2,257.00.

April 14, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-7502

Between March 21 and March 28, 2006, a theft was committed in the 300 block of Hartland.  Unknown persons removed the following items from within the residence:  1 Wedding ring set with 3 gold bands; 1 Onyx gold ring; 1 Pair diamond earrings; 2 Diamond necklaces; 2 Gold women’s watches and 1 Sony Digital camera.  Total loss is estimated at $6825.

April 7, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-6489

At about 4:50 AM March 16, 2006, a burglary was committed at the Salina Airport.  Unknown persons forced entry into the Lockheed Constellation airplane that sits on the tarmac near the runway.  Once inside, two maintenance manuals were taken, electrical cables were cut, and windows were broken on the airplane.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $3250.00.

March 31, 2006 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2006-1153

Between the dates of March 18th, 2006 and March 21st, 2006 unknown suspect(s) burglarized a building located at 1332 W. North St. Salina, KS.  Taken was a plasma torch, a craftsman tool box containing misc. tools, and other red tool box containing misc. tools, wrenches, tap and dye set, 30 ton bottle jack, and other misc. wrenches and tools.   Estimated loss: $9,074.00

March 24, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-6909

On March 20, 2006 at approximately 6:00 PM, an aggravated battery occurred at 9th and Republic.  The victim was walking on the sidewalk near the intersection when he was approached by two black males and one white male in a white car.  The three subjects exited the vehicle and started striking the victim with a baseball bat and a broom handle.  The subjects are described as being 17-19 years of age, and wearing dark clothing. 

March 17, 2005 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-3991

On February 17, 2006, two packages delivered to 608 Duval and left on the front porch.  Sometime between 9:45 AM and 6:00 PM on this date, the packages were removed by unknown persons.  The packages contained the following:  1 Aspire laptop computer and 1 ACER laptop computer.  Total loss is estimated at $3,000.

March 10, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2006-727>

Between the dates of February 16th, 2006 and February 23rd, 2006 a 19 foot 2004 H&H brand flatbed car trailer with a hydraulic tilt was stolen from a pasture in the 5400 block of E. Cloud.  The trailer has orange and white “H&H” stickers on the side and the right front yellow marker light is broken. Estimated loss:  $2,600.00

March 3, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-4405

On February 22, 2006, between the hours of 7:15 AM and 4:50 PM, an unknown person wrote racial slurs on the windshield of a student’s vehicle.  The vehicle (a red Chevrolet Cavalier) was parked in the East parking lot of Salina South High School, 730 E. Magnolia at the time.

February 24, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-3334, 2006-3441

On February 9 and February 11, 2006, suspicious fires were started on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.  The fires were started in a restroom at Pfeiffer Hall, and a laundry area of Wilson Hall.  In both cases, an accelerant was used to start the fires.  Damage is estimated to be in excess of $4,000.00.

February 17, 2006 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2006-473

Between the hours of 5:00 PM on February 4th and 8:30 AM on February 5th 2006 unknown person(s) entered Scoular Elevator located at 3339 East Country Club Road and removed two Dell Opti Plex GX-270 computers, and two Dell 17 inch flat screen monitors from the office area of the business.  Estimated loss: $3300.00

February 10, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-1535

Between 10:30 PM on January 19, and 9:00AM on January 20, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 200 block of W. Kirwin.  The following items were stolen from a Mazda Van:  2- 30 lb. cylinders of R 12 Freon;  1- 30 lb. cylinder of  R 34A Freon;  1-  Tracking meter; 1- Laptop computer;  1- Red and black Craftsman tool bag with miscellaneous tools and 2- LED flashlights.

February 3, 2006 Salina Police Department Case#2006-1735

Between 5:00PM on January 20 and 12:30PM on January 22, 2006, a burglary was committed at Roberts Pump Supply, 1116 Hixson.  Unknown persons forced entry into the business by cutting off a padlock to an overhead door.  The persons drove a vehicle into the building and removed the following items:  25- 500’ rolls of submersible water pump cable;  3- Cases of various brands of pop;  1- Black Lands End coat.  The loss is estimated at over $3800.

January 27, 2006 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2005-5714

Between December 29th, 2005 and January 4th 2006, somebody using a saw cut down a total of 8 4"x4" wooden signposts and took the signs. One 'No Shooting In This Area' sign was taken from the 2000 block of E. Mentor road. In the 8000 block of S. Holmes road, two 'Weight Limit 10 Ton' signs were taken. Between the 4000 and 6200 block of S. Ohio St., 4 speed limit signs and 1 No Littering' sign was taken.  Estimated loss: $320.0

January 20, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-6-868

Between 8:00AM on December 29 and 5:00PM on December 30, 2005, a theft was committed at 1304 Stapler.   Unknown persons entered the property and removed the following item:  1- Black 18’ tandem car trailer with wooden floor.  The trailer is valued at $1,700.

January 13, 2006 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-543

Between 8:00PM on January 7and 7:30AM on January 8, 2006, a theft was committed at Bobcat of Salina, 121 W. Diamond Dr.   Unknown persons entered the parking lot and removed the following item:  1-White, orange, and black S185 Turbo Bobcat skid steer loader.  Loss is in excess of $17,000.

January 6, 2006 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#2005- 5710

Between the hours of 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM on December 22nd 2005 unknown person(s) entered a home at 209 Main in Smolan Kansas and removed a Diamond Tennis bracelet and a pair of diamond earrings.  Estimated loss: $ 5500.00
