December 28, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-34589

Sometime between 3:00 AM and 6:30 AM December 12, 2007, a burglary was committed in the 700 Blk. of S. Front.  Unknown persons forced entry into the residence and removed a 42” JVC flat screen TV.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $3,500.

December 21, 2007 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2007-5728

On December 8th between 8:12 PM and 8:16 PM unknown suspects removed cooper wire from a recycling dumpster owned by KASA located at 418 Avenue B, Salina.  The unknown suspects were seen on surveillance footage driving a silver in color mini-van.  Estimated loss:  $2,000 

December 14, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-34415

Between October 5 and December 12, 2007, a theft was committed at Alltel 621 Westport Blvd.  Unknown person or persons removed 2 Dell Latitude laptop computers from an office area.  Loss is estimated at $2,000.

December 7, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-33277

At about 9:35 PM November 29, 2007 emergency units were sent to a fire at Pit Stop Liquor Store, 1103 W. Crawford.  Upon arrival, the rear of the business was fully engulfed in flames.  The fire quickly spread to H & R Block, The Smoke Shack, Hob Knob Café, and Radio Shack.  It was determined that the fire started in the trash dumpster at the rear of Pit Stop Liquor Store and is believed to have been intentionally set. The building received major structural damage.

November 30, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-5213

On November 13th between Midnight and 5:10 AM unknown person(s) burglarized a shed located at 936 West Euclid, Salina.  The suspect(s) removed a homemade go-cart and a Honda CL-70 3-wheeler.  The go-cart is blue with a blue front fender and has an orange #20 on the side.  The engine is a Briggs & Stratton “Animal”.  The 3-wheeler is a red Honda CL-70.  The rear fender has had recent fender work done to it.  Estimated loss:  $3,000 

November 23, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# Numerous

Between November 9 and November 17, 2007, 25 damage to property cases were reported involving broken windows on vehicles.  The damage was caused by rocks.  This damage has occurred throughout the city of Salina.   The damage is estimated at over $6500.

November 16, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-28061

Between May 21 and October 4, 2007, a burglary was committed in the 300 Blk. of N. 10th.  Unknown persons entered the residence and removed a 32” Vizio flat screen TV, a surround sound system, Nintendo game system, various power tools, and numerous DVD movies.  Loss is estimated at over $4,000.

November 9, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-4979

On October 29th, 2007 between the hours of 5:00 PM and 11:50 PM unknown person(s) stole a 1991 maroon Buick Skylark from 2363 Chapel Ridge Apt 8K, Salina.  The car was later found that evening after being set on fire in the area of Magnolia and Simpson Roads.  The car was destroyed by the fire.  Estimated loss:  $6,000 

October 26, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-27844

Sometime between September 10 and October 2, 2007, a burglary was committed at 604 Rocket.  Unknown persons entered the residence and once inside, the suspect removed 500 music CD’s and a wooden jewelry box containing various rings, necklaces and earrings.   Loss  is estimated at over $3700.

October 19, 2007 Saline County Sheriffs Office Case# 2007-4489

Between the dates of September 29th and September 30th, 2007 unknown person(s) entered a residence located at 7519 West Rifle Road and removed a 32” Symphonic flat screen TV, a Toshiba surround sound system which consisted of 2 tall speakers and 1 subwoofer, a Dell computer with a flat screen monitor, and a Motorola cellular telephone.  Total loss is valued at $2300.  Estimated loss:  $2300 

October 12, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-27917

Between 6:30 PM on October 2, and 8:00AM on October 3, 2007, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 100 block of N. Estates Dr.  Unknown persons entered two vehicles that were parked in the driveway of a residence.  The suspects removed a set of stereo speakers, cash, and an antique black powder pistol.  The suspects also attempted to take the in dash stereo from one of the vehicles.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $5500.

October 5, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-26990

Between 5:00 PM September 22 and 8:00 AM September 24, 2007, a burglary was committed in the 2100 Block of West Crawford.  Unknown persons forced entry into a box trailer while it was parked at 2140 West Crawford.  Once inside the trailer, the suspects removed 8 cases of various brands of cigarettes and a red two wheeled dolly.  Loss and damage is estimated at $5,000.

September 28, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-4148

On September 5th, 2007 between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM unknown person(s) entered the residence located at 1532 S. Holmes Road while the homeowners were gone and removed $550.00 in cash and coins, a men’s black leather wallet, a portable DVD player, and assorted DVD’s.  Estimated loss: $875.00

September 21, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-24626 & 2007-2315

Between 3:30 AM and 5:00 AM August 31, 2007, a burglary was committed at America Jet, 2010 Rogers Ct.  Unknown persons entered the business and removed cash from the office.  They also cut several copper cables and removed them.  Another burglary was committed at the same business between midnight and 6:00 AM on September 7, 2007.  Unknown persons forced entry into the business and removed cash from the office.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $6,000.

September 14, 2007 Saline Police Department Case# 2007-24627 & 2007-24934

Between 12:00 noon August 30 and 10:00 AM August 31, 2007, a burglary was committed at Sullivan Liquor Store, 837 N. Santa Fe.  Unknown persons forcibly entered a small storage shed and removed 25 cases of beer.  The same storage shed was broken into again between 12 noon September 2 and 7:50 AM September 3, 2007and more cases of beer were stolen.  Total loss and damage is estimated at over $2000.

September 7, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-3072

On July 8th, 2007 between the hours of 2:30 AM and 3:00 AM  a 1991 Cadillac stolen from the 2300 block of North 9th Street in Salina was set on fire in the 3500 block of North Simpson Road.  The vehicle was set on fire using gasoline and was completely destroyed by the fire.  The estimated loss is $1,500.00.

August 31, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-22506

On Thursday August 9, 2007, a home made pipe bomb was found at the south end of the Sunset Park ball diamonds, located at 700 Sunset Dr.  The bomb was constructed of silver in color, capped 1 ¼” galvanized pipe, approximately 12” long and fused at one end.  The bomb was disabled by members of Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Fort Riley.

August 24, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2077-23177

Between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM August 15, 2007, a residential burglary was committed in the 100 block of S. 11th.  Unknown persons forcibly entered the rear of the residence and removed a black wooden jewelry box.  The jewelry box contained a 14k gold bracelet, 2 14k gold wedding bands, 2 14k gold necklaces and a gold ring with diamonds.  Also taken was a pink piggy bank containing $150 in coin.  The total loss is estimated at over $2700.

August 17, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-3394 & 2007-3687

Between July 26th and August 11th three cows were shot while grazing in pastures in Saline County.  Two were shot and killed on July 26th between the hours of 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM in the 12,500 block of West Farrelly Road.  The third cow was shot and wounded between August 6th and 11th in the 1400 block of South Kipp Road.  The estimated loss from this crime is over $3,700.00.

August 10, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-20922

Between 10:30 PM July 24 and 7:50 AM July 25, 2007, two Vehicle Burglaries were committed in the 900 block of Buckeye.  Unknown persons entered the vehicles and removed numerous Craftsman hand tools.  Also taken were various Craftsman and Milwaukee power tools.  The value of items are estimated at over $3000.

August 3, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-21683

Between 10:00 PM July 31 and 6:45 AM August 1, 2007, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 300 Block. of Irene.  Unknown persons forced entry into 2003 Freightliner Snap-On tool truck.  Once inside the suspects removed numerous Snap-On brand hand tools and electronic equipment.  Loss  is estimated at over $28,000.

July 27, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-3090

Sometime between the 7th and 9th of July, unknown person(s) entered a shed located at 1884 East Old 40 Highway and removed the following items:  a red Sears air compressor; a red Sears power washer; a black and yellow DeWalt ¾” electric drill; a black unknown brand power sander-grinder; a Chicago Tools brand electric impact wrench; a red and yellow 25 foot extension cord; and a 1986 Chevrolet C-60 white farm truck with a red grain box.  Estimated loss:  $15,225 

July 20, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-19715

Sometime between July 13, and July 15, 2007, a Burglary was committed in the 1500 block of Lewis Street.  Entry was gained by breaking glass on a window of the residence.  Once inside, approximately $4,000 worth of antique toys were stolen.  Total loss is estimated at $4,200.

July 13, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-16963 

Between 10:00 PM and 11:10 PM June 20, 2007, a vehicle burglary was committed in the Bicentennial Center parking lot, 800 Midway.  Unknown persons entered the secured vehicle and removed three purses.  The purses contained the following items:  1-Gold women’s diamond wedding ring;  $160 cash and Various credit cards and personal identification documents.  Loss  is estimated at over $3300.

July 6, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-2461, 2007-2491 and 2007-2518

Sometime between the 2nd and the 4th of June, unknown suspect(s) broke into two vehicles located at 1100 West Grand in Salina and removed a Sony Explode CD player and an Aiwa NSX CD player.  A burglary was committed at the same time to the business at 1025 West Grand. Missing from the business is a Clarke Premium tool box containing miscellaneous hand and power tools, two green Craftsman cordless drills, a DeWalt cordless drill/saw/flashlight kit, and a Snap-On ½” torque wrench.  Estimated loss:  $10,975    

June 29, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-16050

Between 6:45 pm on June 11 and 7:00 am on June 12, 2007, a criminal damage to property was committed at Outlaw Cycles at 901 E. Crawford St.  Unknown  persons shot at and damaged a glass window on the business with a BB gun.  Loss is estimated at $1,600.

June 22, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-16931 

Between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM June 20, 2007, a burglary was committed at 314 S. Ohio.  Unknown persons entered the residence and once inside, the following items were removed:  1-Peavey black and white 6 string electric guitar and case; 1-Ibenez black 6 string electric guitar and case; 1-Ibenez maroon 5 string bass guitar and case; 1-Alverez black 6 string acoustic/electric guitar.  Loss  is estimated at over $1600.

June 15, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-2564

On June 8th, 2007 between 11:00 PM and 11:23 PM unknown person(s) entered Dauer’s Implement located at 144 West Farrelly Road and removed a black in color Hewlett Packard laptop computer valued at $1,750.  In the process of breaking into the building a metal door and window pane was damaged valued at $1,400.  Estimated loss:  $3,150 

June 8, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-13678

On May 21, 2007 at around 11:30 PM, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 600 Block of S. 12th.  A thin white male with a white ball cap was seen standing next to the victim’s vehicle.  It was later determined that there were items removed from inside the car.  These items include:  1-Civil War letter from the Battle of Bowling Green; 2-Lottery tickets; and $5 cash.  Loss is estimated at over $1,000.

June 1, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-13784

Between 9:00 PM May 22 and 1:00 AM May 23, 2007, a burglary was committed at 911 N. 11th.  Unknown persons cut the screen to a window and entered the residence.  Once inside, the following items were removed:    1-RCA LCD 26” flat screen TV; 1-Xbox 360; 1-Samsung DVD player; 1-Technix receiver and 8-Xbox 360 games.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,700.

May 25, 2007 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2007-1895

Between May 4th, 2007 at 10:15 PM to 10:23 PM unknown suspect(s) set fire to a 2005 Dodge 2500 series Ram truck in the 2600 block of North Whitmore Road.  The truck received $25,000 worth of damage from the fire. Witnesses observed a white Chrysler 4 door vehicle with primer paint spots on the driver side quarter panel leave the area of the truck at the same time the fire was discovered.   Estimated loss: $25,000

May 18, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-12838

Between May 12 and May 14, 2007, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 2900 Block of Tasker.  Unknown persons entered the victim’s vehicle and removed the following items:  1-Smith and Wesson 38 Special revolver;  1-Black brief case containing specialized copier repair tools; and  $225 cash.  Total loss is estimated at over $3,700.

May 11, 2007 Salina Police Department  Case# 2007-10660

Between 5:00 PM April 24 and 8:00 AM April 25, 2007, a burglary was committed in the 2200 block of Commerce.  A white enclosed trailer owned by L and S Contractors was forcibly entered and several items were removed.  These items include a 5000 Watt Honda generator, Dewalt cordless drill, and miscellaneous hand tools.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,500.

May 4, 2007 Saline  County Sheriff's Office Case# 2007-1667

On April 18th, 2007 between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM unknown suspect(s) entered a home located at 2558 E. Humbargar Rd. and burglarized it.  Taken was a silver RCA 54” Flat screen HD TV with a small web crack on the left side of the screen.  Also taken was an X-Box 360 Game Console, 10 X-Box 360 games, and 90 DVD movies.  The estimated loss from this crime is $9,320.00. 

April 27, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-10468

Between April 21 and April 23, 2007, a burglary was committed at The Smoke Shack, 1103 W. Crawford.  Unknown persons shattered the rear glass door to the business to gain entry.  Once inside, numerous items were removed.  These items include $125 cash, 55 cartons of cigarettes, 67 single packs of cigarettes and cigars, and several butane lighters.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $3,100.

April 20, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-9819

Between 5:00 AM and 8:15 AM April 17, 2007, a burglary was committed at Snow River Blankets, 901 N. 9th.  Unknown persons shattered the front glass door to gain entry.  Once inside, numerous items of clothing apparel were removed.  These items include Mexican style belts, jeans, jackets, boots, and hats.  Numerous knives and men’s wallets were also taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $19,000.

April 13th, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-1405

Between April 2nd, 2007 and April 3rd, 2007 unknown suspect(s) stole a blue 2003 Chevy Z71 pickup from Salina, KS. The truck was then recovered in the area of Muir and Schilling Roads. The suspect(s) caused $15,000 worth of damage to the truck and also caused $100 worth of damage to a metal gate and barb wire fencing in the area of Muir and Schilling Roads.  Estimated loss: $15,100

April 6, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-5544

Between March 2 and March 3, 2007, a residential burglary was committed at 113 S. 3rd  Street.  Unknown persons forced entry into the residence through the back door.  Once inside, the following items were removed:  1- Ovation Penacle guitar in hard case;  1- Men’s gold watch with diamonds; and 1- Silver men’s pocket watch.  The damage and loss is estimated at over $1600.

March 23, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-1196

Between February 26th and March 23rd, 2007 unknown suspect(s) entered a residence located at 2832 E Crawford Street and removed a Craftsman tool caddy, cans of CHROMA base paint, Snap-on HVIP paint gun, Waterloo top and bottom tool box, Craftsman drill press, Holley 750 double pumper, B&M 144 blower, spoiler off a Mazda 626, case of Pennzoil, Snap-on screwdriver, set of 100 Snap-on 3/8 drive racket and sockets, Craftsman shop vacuum, and other miscellaneous power tools.  Estimated loss:  $5025.00 

March 16, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-6012

Between February 22 and March 8, 2007, a theft was committed at Gleason and Son Sign, 2440 N. 9th Street.  Unknown persons entered the lot and removed an empty 300 gallon stainless steel chemical tank along with the tank stand.  Total loss is estimated at $5,000.

March 9, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-5133 & 2007-5134

Between February 13 and February 15, 2007, a damage to property occurred in the 400 Block of North Chicago.  The windshield of a Caterpillar Track Hoe belonging to the Saginaw Corp. was shattered.  Between February 26 and February 27, 2007 at the same location, another Caterpillar loader belonging to the Saginaw Corp. had 4 windows on the cab shattered.   Total damage is estimated at $3500.

March 2, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-801

Between the dates of February 23rd and February 26th, 2007 unknown suspect(s) vandalized a 2004 Caterpillar 320 CL Backhoe located in the 4000 Block of North Japer Road at a bridge construction site.  The vandals drove the backhoe around the construction site before they tipped it over into a hole causing $2000.00 in damage to the backhoe.  Evidence from the scene indicates the suspect(s) may have injured themselves when they tipped the backhoe onto its side.

February 23, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-4532

Between February 14 and February 16, 2007, a theft was committed at the Holiday Inn Holidome, 1616 W. Crawford.  Unknown person(s) entered the office area of the hotel and removed a black nylon bag which contained a black Benq brand LCD projector with components.  The loss is estimated at $1600.

February 16, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-444

Between December 31, 2006 and January 6, 2007, a theft was committed in the 900 block of Cherokee.  Unknown persons entered the back yard of a residence and removed a red National brand Sewer clean out machine with a 50 foot orange cable.  The loss is estimated at $2500.

February 9, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-352

Between the dates of December 21st, 2006 and January 26th, 2007 unknown suspects entered a fenced in area around a Westlink Communications cell tower in the 5100 N. Solomon Rd. and stole two Bus Plates from the tower.  The Bus Plates are like a circuit board for the tower.  Estimated Loss from theft is $1,200.00.  

February 2, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-1820

Between 8:00 PM and 8:08 PM January 21, a Residential Burglary was committed in the 400 block of Franklin Street.  Unknown persons unscrewed the light bulb above the porch and then forced entry into the residence.  Once inside, the persons removed a Vizio 42” flat screen LCD TV.  The loss and damage is estimated at over $1500.

January 26, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-1194

Between January 12 and January 15, 2007, a theft was committed at Veridian Behavioral Health, 501 S. Santa Fe.  Unknown person(s) entered an employee’s office and removed a Dell Latitude D610 laptop computer and docking station from the desk.  The computer is owned by Salina Regional Health Center.  It appears the theft occurred during business hours.  The loss is estimated at $1500.

January 19, 2007 Saline County Sheriff’s Office Case# 2007-197 and 2007-198

On January 15th, 2007 it was reported that unknown person(s) entered two buildings located in the 9000 block of South Burma Road.  Suspect(s) removed approximately 50 feet of copper pipe approximately 3/4” to 1” in diameter from one of the buildings.  The other building suspect(s) removed approximately 2000 feet of construction grade copper wiring.  Estimated loss:  In both cases $4050.00 

January 12, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2007-259

Between December 29, 2006 and January 4, 2007, a theft was committed at Midwest Commercial Laundry Equipment, 616 E. North.  Unknown persons entered the lot of the business and removed 18 stainless steel tops from the dryer units.  The loss is estimated at $6000.

January 5, 2007 Salina Police Department Case# 2006-34434

Between 9:00 PM December 20 and 8:30 AM December 21, 2006, a Vehicle Burglary was committed in the 500 block of E. Ellsworth.  Unknown persons entered the vehicle and removed the following items:  1- KS Amplifier;  1- Dual vented speaker box with 2-10” subwoofer speakers.  The loss and damage is estimated at over $1500.
