December 9, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-5772

Sometime between October 26th - October 27th, unknown person(s) cut a padlock to a utility shed located at ADM, 1884 A East Old 40 Highway.  Once inside the suspect(s) stole approximately 600 feet of large insulated copper wire that was on a wooden spool, along with a high capacity breaker box from the shed.  Estimated loss and damages:  $2,000.00.

December 2, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-28750

Sometime between November 3 and November 10, 2011, a burglary was committed at 1833 Simmons.  A detached garage was forcibly entered and the following items were removed:  one - Snap On 72" X32" single bottom too chest and various Snap On and Craftsman tools and drills.  Loss is estimated at over $15,000.00.

November 18, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-6291

On November 7th between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, unknown person(s) kicked open the backdoor to a residence located at 306 East 1st Street in New Cambria, KS.  Once inside the suspect(s) stole a Colt .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a 12 gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster plump shotgun, a Ruger Security six .357 magnum revolver, a Ruger Single Six .22 caliber revolver, 2 speed loaders for the Ruger Security Six, 2 gun cleaning kits, and a box of Remington 12 gauge shotgun shells.  Estimated loss and damage is $1,311.00.

November 11, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-26696

Sometime between September 16 and October 24, 2011, a burglary was committed at Lakewood Park, 250 Lakewood Park Drive.  A storage building was forcibly entered and a 16' aluminum flat bottom boat was removed.  The boat has a "City of Salina" sticker on the side.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $500.00.

November 4, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-27331

Sometime between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM October 27, 2011, a residential burglary was committed at 2312 Redhawk.  The residence was entered and an Xbox 360, Xbox Kinect, controllers, and $500.00 cash were removed.  Loss is estimated at over$1,100.00.

October 28, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-5670

Sometime between October 19th and October 24th, unknown person(s) forced entry into a barn and old outbuildings.  The suspect(s) stole a 1993 Honda 90cc motorcycle, a maroon electric moped, a Kohler 3500 series generator, 500 VHS tapes in clear totes with blue lids, various size Mac, Craftsman, and Snap-On impact sockets, ratchets, and hand tools, Makita 1/2" and 3/8" power drill, a Karcher 1500 PSI power sprayer, and unknown brand of micrometers and calipers.  Estimated loss is $30,000.00.


October 21, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-25786

Sometime during the night of October 15, 2011, a burglary was committed at Central High School, 650 E. Crawford.  The building was forcibly entered and 9-Dell laptops computers and a Promethean PRM-10 projector were taken.  Several rooms were entered and damaged.  Also two vehicles belonging to USD305 that were parked in the south parking lot had the front and rear windshields shattered.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $5,000.00

October 14, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-23130

Sometime between October 7 and October 10, 2011, a theft was committed at Mid-States Energy, 618 N. Santa Fe.  Unknown suspects climbed over the fence to gain access to the lot where they damaged three insulators and then removed the following items:  2-Bypass switches; 1-Airbrake switch; 1-S and C power fuse; and 12-Fuses.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $8,000.00

September 30, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-21899

Sometime during the night of September 24, 2011, a vehicle burglary was committed in the 200 block of East Beloit.  Taken were a Kicker 1000 watt amplifier, two boxed 12" JL audio speakers, a 13 inch survival knife and a Zippo lighter.  Loss is estimated at $1,500.00.

September 23, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-21454

Sometime during the night of September 18, 2011, a vehicle burglary was committed at 2619 Bret Ave, when an unsecured Silver 2005 Mercury Montego, bearing KS Tag 791BBY was entered and a Toshiba Projector and an unknown brand laptop computer were removed:  Loss is estimated at over $2,200.00.

September 16, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-20484

Sometime during the night of September 7 2011, a vehicle burglary was committed at 1812 Haskett.  A work van belonging to Accurate Electric was forcibly entered and the following items were removed:  1 - 1/2 " Dewalt hammer drill; 1 - Milwaukee 19 volt saws-all combo kit; 1 - Milwaukee 12 volt compact drill with 2 batteries; 1 - Milwaukee 18 volt compact drill with 2 batteries and miscellaneous hand tools.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,700.00.

September 9, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-20055

Sometime during the night of September 2, 2011, a residential burglary was committed at 1104 State.  The residence was entered and an LG 50" flat screen TV, Toshiba laptop computer, and an RCA home theater system were removed.  Loss is estimated at Over $1,100.00.

September 2, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-19509

Sometime during the night of August 28, 2011, a vehicle burglary was committed at 3222 Royal Drive.  The unsecured vehicle was entered and the following items were removed:  1 - Black Wilson Prostaff tennis racket; 2 - Blue and Black Babolat tennis rackets; 1 - Orange and black Wilson tennis racket; 1 - Green Dunlop tennis racket and 1 Wallet containing $50 and a $20 Target gift card.  Loss is estimated at over $900.00.

August 26, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-3520

Sometime between August 16th and August 23rd, unknown suspect(s) removed 2 - 75 foot welding leads from a Hobart welder located at Ell-Saline Elementary School, 1757 North Halstead Road.  The welder was secured to a post that was in the parking lot of the school.  Estimated loss:  $1,400.00.

August 19, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-18437

Sometime during the night of August 15, 2011, a residential burglary was committed at 124 S. Phillips.  The front door was forced open and the following items were taken:  1 - X-Box 360 with controller and 10 games; 1 Toshiba laptop computer; 1 Berringer DDM 400 mixer board; 1 Allen and Heath mixer board; Miscellaneous jewelry; Miscellaneous half dollars and foreign coins.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,800.00.

August 12, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-17608

Sometime during the night of August 5, 2011, a burglary was committed at Point Blank, 676 S. Ohio when entry was gained by breaking a window.  The following items were stolen:  Nintendo Game Cube; a purple controller; approximately six Nintendo Games; Three tattooing guns:  Danny Falor, Next Generation and Catfish Carl; several other pieces of tattooing equipment.  Total loss and damage is estimated at $13,905.

August 5, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-2832

Between July 10th at 9:30 AM and July 11th at 2:35 AM, unknown person(s) set fire to a residence located at 1884 East Old 40 Highway.  The suspect(s) broke out a window to the front door and ignited a couch and the floor on fire.  Estimated loss: $8,000.00.

July 29, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-16645

Sometime during the night of July 26, 2011, a damage to property occurred in the parking lot at the southeast corner of 7th and Ash.  A 1997 Ford Crown Victoria had both mirrors broken off and the windshield wipers removed.  A second vehicle, a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria, had the hood scratched and dented by a concrete parking block, spotlight broken, both mirrors broken, windshield broken and windshield wipers removed.  Both vehicles are owned by the City of Salina.  Damage is estimated at over $1,500.00.

July 22, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-14991

Sometime during the night of July 7, 2011, a theft occurred at Precision Machine, 2231 Centennial.  A red 2010 R&W Rice 18' flatbed trailer was taken from the south side of the business.  The trailer has a tilt deck and the name "Rice" is written in yellow on the side.  Loss is estimated at $2,300.00.

July 15, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-2845

Sometime between July 10th and July 11th, unknown person(s) broke into a residence located at 831 South Powers Road.  Once inside the suspect(s) stole a LG 50" plasma TV, Avon rings and necklace, women's lingerie, a red Sioux air wrench, a set of 3/8" sockets and rackets, a torque wrench, a blue blanket, a Sweet .16 gauge shotgun and a Champion .410 gauge break open single shot shotgun.  Estimated loss:  $2,340.00.

July 8, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-14593

Sometime between 7:00 PM and 11:45 PM July 3, 2011, a residential burglary was committed at 837 E. Wayne #203.  The apartment was entered and a Visio 42" TV, men's and women's wedding bands, $50.00 cash, and miscellaneous clothing were removed.  Loss is estimated at over $5,500.00.

July 1, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-13993

Between June 25 and June 28, 2011, a theft was committed at 1106 Stack.  A Tapco Pro 19 Port-O-Bender was secured by a chain in the back yard of the residence.  The chain was cut and the item was taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,600.00.

June 24, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-2249

Sometime between June 3rd and June 6th, unknown person(s) stole 3000 lbs. of various sized brass fittings and brass flow meter parts from a business located at 100 West Gran Avenue.  The loss is estimated at $6,000.00.

June 17, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# Numerous

Sometime during the night of June 10, 2011, fifteen mailboxes were damaged in southeast Salina.  They were struck with a baseball bat or similar blunt object.  Damage is estimated at over $500.00.

June 10, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-12020

Between April 23rd and June 6, 2011 a burglary was committed at A-1 Mini Storage, 306 E. Walnut.  The padlock was removed and entry was gained to a storage unit.  Items taken include numerous collectable comic books, old model train sets and several old vinyl record albums.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $10,000.00.

June 3, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-2137

Sometime between May 30th and May 31st, 2011, unknown suspect(s) burglarized a vehicle and home located at 4369 e. Campbell Road in Saline County, Kansas.  The suspect(s) broke a window to the vehicle parked at the residence and stole a bank bag that contained $300.00 in cash.  The suspect(s) then entered the unoccupied residence going through the entire house and stealing miscellaneous household items. The estimated loss and damages from this burglary is $1,000.00.

May 27, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-10894

Sometime during the night of May  24, 2011, a burglary was committed at Lakewood Middle School, 1135 Lakewood Circle.  Entry was made by breaking a window on the east side of the building.  Once inside, two offices were entered and an Apple IPad and $117.00 were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,100.00.

May 20, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-10146

Sometime during the night of May 15, 2011, a business burglary was committed at Beverage Carbonation Service, 1625 E. North Street.  The business was forcibly entered through a window on the southwest corner of the building.  Once inside, the following items were removed:  2000 Red Dodge pickup; 6 Dura book laptop computers; 2 Garmin GPS units; 1 Hypertherm Powermax 30 Plasma cutter; 1 Millermatic 211 Autoset welder and miscellaneous hand tools and computer components.  The Dodge pickup was later located a short distance from the business.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $28,000.00

May 13, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-1862

Sometime between May 3 - May 12, 2011, unknown suspect(s) broke a window out and entered an abandoned service station/restaurant located at 11524 South Old 81 Highway.  Once inside the suspect(s) damaged appliances, large walk in freezers and heating and air units to get copper tubing and wiring from the machines  The suspect(s) also stole 2 soft serve ice cream machines.  Estimated loss and damages are in excess of $15,000.00

May 6, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-8975

Between 4:45 PM and 5:10 PM May 2, 2011 a residential burglary was committed at 2315 Montclair Drive.  The front door was forced open and once inside, the following items were removed;  Remington 30-06 rifle; Winchester 30-30 rifle; Unknown brand 410 shotgun; .44 Sharps rifle; Provner Arms 12 gauge double barrel shotgun; Redfield scope; 20" HP computer monitor; Miscellaneous jewelry and Miscellaneous prescription medication.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $6,000.00.

April 29, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-8000

At 4:45 AM April 21, 2011, a burglary occurred at Salina Powersports, 632 S. Broadway.  The suspect forced open the gate to the back lot and removed a green 2007 Artic Cat 500 4X4 ATV.  The suspect also forced entry into a storage unit and removed 50# of copper wire.  The surveillance video can be seen on YouTube by going to www.pd.salina.org.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $5,000.00.

April 22, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-1500

Between April 9th and April 16th, 2011, unknown person(s) stole household items, building materials, finishing materials, and power and hand tools from a garage located at 2161 W. Watkins Road.  Witnesses saw a white pickup with a utility trailer that had the reported stolen items on it.  Items stolen consist of approximately 80 new and old "t" posts, 20 sheets of tin ridge roofing, a red and green 6' x 10' homemade trailer with a gas motor attached to the tongue used to transport a 200 gallon water tank, a 8' round horse tank, a Poulan 16hp 38" riding mower, a Champion 6600 watt generator, 110 volt Miller welder, 10,000 lb winch, Husqvarna 16" chainsaw, Craftsman rear tine tiller, various household appliances, and various hand and power tools.  Estimated loss is $17,200.00.

 April 15, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-7247

Between 9:20 PM April 10 and 1:30 AM April 11, 2011, a theft was committed at Bobcat of Salina, 721 W. Diamond Dr.  Three (3) bobcats skid loaders were removed from the lot and driven to a nearby construction site.  One (1) S205 bobcat skid loader was loaded onto a flatbed gooseneck trailer that was being pulled by a full size pick up.  Also taken was an 84" angle broom attachment, a 72" brush cat attachment, an angle grader attachment, and a bucket attachment.  The surveillance video can be see on YouTube by going to www.pd.salina.org.  Loss is estimated at over $63,000.00.

April 8, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-Numerous

Between April 2 and April 4, 2011, 26 mailboxes were damaged in east and south Salina when they were struck and knocked over.  Damage is estimated at over $600.00

April 1, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-1188

Sometime between January 24th and March 24th 2011, unknown suspect(s) stole an inoperable red 1984 Chevy S10 pick-up from 4041 East Old 40 highway.  The pick-up has a white topper and has Kansas tag KFA529.  Also taken from inside the residence was miscellaneous antique furniture and miscellaneous hand tools.  Estimated loss is $1,000.00.

March 25, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-5552

Sometime during the night of March 20, 2011, a burglary was committed at Arby's, 510 S. Broadway when the building was entered by an unknown means.  Once inside, the suspects attempted to gain entry to the safe but were unsuccessful.  They did however take a Targus DVD player from the building.  Loss and damage is estimated at $3,600.00.

March 18, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-4576

Sometime between March 4 and March 7, 2011, a theft occurred at a building site at Great Plains Trucking, 1935 E. North.  Taken was a white 14' enclosed trailer with "Salina Building Systems" on the sides.  The trailer contained miscellaneous construction power tools.  Loss is estimated at over $6,300.00.

March 11, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-845

Sometime between February 28th and March 1st, 2011, unknown person(s) stole a trailer from 2077 South Simpson Road.  The trailer is a 1988 10' WW brand enclosed box trailer bearing Kansas tag UJY836.  The trailer has a gas can rack on the front and the trailer contained various sized PVC pipe fittings.  Loss is estimated at $1,700.00.

March 4, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-4176

At 3:19 AM on March 2, 2011, Officers responded to an alarm at Snak Atak, 1619 W. Magnolia.  A large rock was used to break out the front glass door.  Once inside, twenty four cartons of cigarettes including Camel, Marlboro, Newport, Salem, and Winston were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,800.00.

February 25, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-704

Sometime on February 19, 2011, between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM unknown person(s) stole a car engine and transmission from the property located at 5032 W Water Well Road.  The engine and transmission came out of a 1990 Acura Integra and the engine was a 1.81 DOHC.  Total estimated loss is $300.00.

February 18, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011- Various

Between February 2 and February 18, 2011, there have been five (5) liquor store burglaries at the following locations:  Real Stuff Liquor, 1717 W. Crawford; T and R Liquor 1300 State; Perry's Liquor, 1001 E. Crawford; Bo's Liquor, 2745 Belmont, and Cave Divers, 1102 W. Crawford.  The front glass doors were shattered and once inside Grey Goose Vodka, Belvedere Vodka, and cash registers were taken.

February 11, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-2488

At 8:35 PM February 7, 2011, an aggravated robbery was committed in Aldi's parking lot, 2660 Planet Ave. A black male wearing a white shirt, brown waist length coat, and blue jeans approached the victim who was in her car and opened the door.  He brandished a silver handgun and demanded money.  He then took her purse and ran northbound, where he was seen getting into an older Buick LeSabre driven by a white female.  the vehicle was last seen northbound from the Sonic Drive-In, 2651 Market Place.

February 4, 2011 Salina Police Department Case# 2011-2033

Sometime during the night of January 31, 2011, a vehicle burglary was committed at The Super 8 Motel, 120 E. Diamond Dr.  A window was broken on a 2007 Chevrolet pickup and a brief case containing Mountain View Metal Works business checks and $3,000.00 cash was removed.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $3,200.00.

January 28, 2011, Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2011-266

Sometime between January 18th and January 19th, 2011, unknown person(s) cut a padlock off a utility trailer which was located at 1884 East Old 40 Highway.  The suspect(s) stole a black and yellow gas powered Briggs & Stratton generator.  The generator has fold down arms and is on wheels.  The approximate size of the generator is 3 1/2' X 2' X 3' and weighs about 200 lbs.  Estimated loss:  $1,200.00.

January 21, 2011, Salina Police Department Case# 2008-1792

Three years ago on January 21, 2009, the Salina Police Department responded to 1200 E. Iron, to check the welfare of the only occupant of the residence, Beverly Logan.  The officers found the front door ajar and Ms. Logan deceased in the kitchen.  It was apparent to the investigating officers she was the victim of a brutal attack.  This homicide occurred around noon, on a Monday, next door to a heavily patronized convenience store on a major arterial street.

January 14, 2011, Salina Police Department Case

Sometime between 10:25 pm on January 9, 2011 and 8:07 am on January 10, 2011, a burglary was committed at Pizza Hut, 550 S. Ohio.  Forced entry was made through a door.  Once inside a brown NKL Surelock keypad safe was stolen.  The safe contained approximately $1,100 cash and credit card receipts.

January 7, 2011 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2010-5299

Sometime between October 14 and December 29, 2010, unknown person(s) forced entry into a Morton building located at 4489 North Wasserman Way.  The suspect(s) stole a Snap-On royal blue toolbox with chrome trim.  The toolbox has chrome wheels and is 54" in width, 41" in height and 29" deep.  The toolbox is a special order item through Snap-On and has never been used.  Estimated loss is $6500.00.
