December 27, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-46289

Sometime between 10:30 PM on December 24, 2013 and 2:45 PM on December 25, 2013, a 16’ rust colored double axle trailer with a wooden bed, was taken from the parking lot at Vortex Corporation, 1725 Vortex Ave.  Total loss is estimated at $2,000.

December 20, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-45022

Sometime between 6:20 AM and 4:00 PM on December 13th, a residential burglary was committed at 1411 Osborne.  A 24K men’s wedding band, a men’s 10” yellow gold rope style chain and a Star Wars “Luke Skywalker” collectible light saber were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,000.

December 13, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#23482

On November 30th, 2013 at approximately 2:00 AM, unknown person(s) stole three Polaris UTV’s from Straub International, located at 3637 South 9th Street, Salina.  The UTV’s were seen driving east on Water Well Road that night.  The three UTV’s are described as a white 2014 RZR-14 800, a pursuit camo 2014 RZR-14 800 and a gray/titanium metallic 2014 RGR-14 900XP. Estimated Loss & Damages:  $38,747.00

December 6, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-43294

Sometime between November 8 and November 16, 2013, a burglary was committed at Kansas Wesleyan University, 100 E. Claflin.  A music room was entered and four sets of Zildjian drum cymbals were removed.  Loss is estimated at over $7,400.

November 22, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-21957

Sometime between November 6th-8th, unknown person(s) broke into six RV campers at Lorenson Industries, located at 461 E Avenue A.  The suspect(s) stole the following items:  two unknown make flat screen TV’s, a 32” Vizio flat screen TV, a Dyson electric heater, an electric griddle, a Black and Decker electric screwdriver, a trouble light, a Magellan GPS unit, a Kenwood radio, a 20’ 50 amp power cord, two Hughes amp reducers, and a 100’ 20 amp extension cord.  Estimated Loss & Damages:  $8750.00

November 15, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-40915

Sometime between October 30 and November 7, 2013, a burglary was committed at Salina Mini Storage, 2727 Centennial Rd.  A 2004 Keystone Cougar Fifth Wheel camper stored on the property was forcibly entered and a 32” flat screen TV, RCA DVD player, and 40 DVD movies were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,300.

November 8, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-40141

Sometime between 2:00 PM and 10:30 PM October 31, 2013, a vehicle burglary was committed at 340 N. 12th.  A 2008 Chevrolet HHR was entered and a black and white Titleist golf bag was taken.  The bag is embroidered with “Roosters Tavern” and it contained numerous clubs to include Ping, Cobra, Bobby Jones Hybrid, and Titleist.  Loss is estimated at $3,000.

November 1, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-21488

Sometime between October 27, 2013 and November 1, 2013, a shed was burglarized in the 1400 block of east Ottawa Road, rural Saline County, Kansas.  Stolen from the shed:
Honeywell brand red and white 5500 watt generator; Stihl brand 18” chainsaw; 5 gallon bucket and yellow tool caddy containing miscellaneous hand tools. Total loss is estimated at $1,200.00

October 25, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-38684

Sometime between 5:30 PM October 18 and 3:40 PM October 20, 2013, a residential burglary was committed at 2363 Chapel Ridge Apt. 14A.  Entry was gained and items taken include a men’s gold ring with a tiger stone and an Emerson 32” TV.  Loss and damage is estimated at $1,000.

October 18, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-36182

Sometime between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM October 1, 2013, a burglary was committed at 111 N. Wisconsin #207.  The front door was forced open and several items were taken to include a 16” Samsung TV, 16” computer monitor, two bottles of cologne, Phillips DVD player, and two Seiko watches.  Loss and damage is estimated at $1,000.

October 11, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-19854

On October 7, 2013 between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm several items were stolen from outbuildings located in the 1,000 block of North Powers Road, rural Saline County.  Items stolen include:  New, red in color; Toro 5060 zero turn tiding lawnmower; 2003 or 2004, light blue in color Honda 400 EX Racing ATV; Craftsman straight shaft weed eater; Unknown brand, green in color, weed eater; Craftsman vehicle/deep cycle battery charger;  and a Victor cutting torch and bottles  Total loss is estimated at $7,666

October 4, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-34068

Sometime during the night of September 14, 2013, a theft was committed at Comfort Inn and Suites, 715 W. Schilling Rd.  A black 2007 Polaris Outlaw 525IRS ATV was taken from the bed of a pickup that was parked on the lot.  The ATV was secured with tie down straps, which had been cut.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $4,000.

September 27, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-34397

Sometime during the night of September 18, 2013, a burglary was committed at Taco John’s, 303 S. Santa Fe.  Entry was gained by breaking the drive-thru window on the south side of the building.  Once inside, money was taken from the safe.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,400.

September 20, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office - Multiple Cases

During the months of August and September, 2013 several wheels/tires and tools have been stolen from various locations in Saline County. The following has been reported to the County Sheriff’s Office:  August 20, 2013, in the 1200 block of West North Street:  (4) Power King 10”x16.5” tires and wheels stolen from a Bobcat skid steer loader  (10) Chicago pneumatic 15” jackhammers  (10) Retainer bits  August 24, 2013, in the 700 block of North Cunningham: (4) BF Good Wrench Baja tires, size 225/75/16, and wheels stolen from a utility trailer (2) 40’chains  September 9, 2013, in the 3900 block of West Crawford Street: (2) Digo 12’x16.5” tires and wheels stolen from a Case skid steer loader  Total estimated loss is $9,550.

September 13, 2013 Salina Police Department Case#2013-33630

Sometime during the night of September 11, 2013, a burglary was committed at Grace E. Stewart Elementary School, 2123 Roach.  Numerous window screens were cut and entry was gained by breaking a window.  Once inside, several doors were damaged and some candy and a yellow Plexiglass sign with "Grace E. Stewart - You made a difference" were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,400.00

September 6, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-31239

Sometime between August 24 and August 26, 2013, a vehicle burglary was committed at Marshall Motors, 3500 S. 9th.  A 1999 Dodge Durango was forcibly entered while parked at the business and a carpeted speaker box containing two 15” JVC speakers was taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,000.

August 30, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-16379

On August 12, 2013, it was reported to the Sheriff's Office that 180-200 screw jacks used to level scaffolding were stolen from Concrete and Supply, 1332 West North Street, in rural Saline County.  The screw jacks were described as being approximately 30 inches long, 2 inches in diameter, weighing 25-30 pounds each, and linear in shape with the main component being threaded iron.  Total loss estimated at $2,000.00.

August 23, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-28399

Sometime during the night of August 4, 2013, a theft was committed at 543 N. 12th.  A yellow 2004 Kawasaki Ninja 250 was taken from the yard of the residence.  The keys were not with the motorcycle and it has an aftermarket tail light.  Loss is estimated at over $3,000.00.

August 16, 2013 Salina Police Department Case#  2013-29474

Between 5:00 AM and 6:15 AM August 13, 2013, a theft was committed at the Rodeway Inn, 1846 N. 9th.  A 10' single axle Branson trailer was stolen from the lot by unhooking it from the victim's vehicle.  The trailer contained a dark blue 2011 Polaris UTV and a snow blade attachment.  Loss is estimated at $13,500.00.

August 9, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-15221

Sometime between 9:00 pm, July 30, 2013, and 6:30 am, July 31, 2013, Straub International, 3637 South 9th Street, rural Saline County, was burglarized and (2) Polaris ATVs were stolen.  Description: (1) 2013 Polaris RZR XP4900 4 seat ATV with Indy red paint, black trim and chrome wheels. (1) 2013 Polaris RZR S800 2 seat ATV with Indy red paint, black trim and chrome wheels.  Total loss is $28,754.00.

August 2, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-22279

Sometime between July 24 and July 27, 2013, a theft was committed at 1213 N. 10th.  An orange and gray Husqvarna riding lawn mower was taken from the back yard of the residence.  The mower has a 46" deck and a 21 hp Kohler Motor.  Loss is estimated at over $1,000.00.

July 26, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-25748

Sometime between June 15 and July 15, 2013, a theft was committed at Ferco Rental, 264 S Broadway.  Five pendant cables for a Link Belt crane were removed from the boom.  The cables are 1 3/8" in diameter and are 10-20' in length.  Loss is estimated at over $4700.

July 19, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-13608

Sometime between 2:00 PM on July 6, 2013 and 9:00 PM on July 7, 2013 forced entry was made into a residence located at 1940 South Lightville Road and several items were stolen from the residence.  Items stolen included:  Sony 62" flat screen television; Phillips 52" flat screen television; Sony 32" flat screen computer monitor; Compaq 18" flat screen computer monitor; Dell 18" flat screen computer monitor; Dish Satellite television receiver; Hewett Packard laptop computer; (2) pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes; (2) pair of DC shoes skater shoes and (1) pair Oakley sunglasses.  Total loss is estimated at $2,825.00.

July 12, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-25022

At about 3:15 PM July 10, 2013, a theft was committed at Midwest Siding, 1550 S. Broadway.  Approximately 800 feet of leaf gutter guard was taken from a pallet in front of the business.  The suspect, described as W/M or H/M in his late 20's was observed loading the property into a white sport utility vehicle with a white aftermarket from bumper.  Loss is estimated at over $1,000.00.

July 5, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-24034

Sometime between 1:00 AM and 7 AM July 4, 2013, a residential burglary was committed at 815 West Prescott.  Entry was made into a detached garage and a red and white 2002 Yamaha R6 motorcycle and a silver and black 2003 Hayabusa Suzuki motorcycle were taken.  Later that same day the Yamaha motorcycle was located in the 1200 block of North Santa Fe Avenue.  Loss is estimated at over $11,000.00.

June 28, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-12374

Sometime between June 3rd - June 19th, unknown person(s) removed fencing material from a field located in the 900 block of North Tressin Road.  The fencing material consisted of 10-8'x12' chain link security gates, 15 green 6' T-posts, a rust colored 4'x8' railroad gate, 2-4'x6' rust colored wire panels, 2-4'x8' brown colored sheets of metal, and an 8' tall homemade windmill with red fins.  Estimated loss and damages: $2,887.00.

June 21, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-21437

Sometime during the night of June 16, 2013, a burglary was committed at 1012 York.  Entry was gained by breaking a window on the back side of the building.  Once inside several items were taken to include a 2001 Mercedes-Benz, Hyper Therm Power Max plasma cutter, 380 caliber handgun, antique rifle, antique shotgun, four welding helmets, Dynex 50" TV and a Gateway laptop computer. The vehicle was located abandoned in rural Saline County.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $28,000.00.

June 14, 2012 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-15981

Sometime between 1:00 AM and 9:15 PM May 9, 2013 a residential burglary was committed at 578 Uppermill Heights Drive.  Entry was gained to the residence and several items of women's clothing and numerous woman's rings and necklaces were taken.  Loss is estimated at over $800.00.

June 7, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-10812

Sometime between Mary 22, 2013 and May 28, 2013, unknown suspect (s) gained access to a construction trailer at the Westar Energy Summit Substation located at 5998 South Simpson Road.  Once inside the trailer the suspect (s) stole 6 spools of 180 feet of 4" diameter copper ground wire, 5 spools of 120 feet of 2" diameter copper ground wire, 100 pound spool of copper weld, a Craftsman socket driver with sockets, a Klein screw driver, 2 pair of Channel Lock pliers and a Craftsman speed wrench.  Estimated loss and damage:  $5,600.00.

May 31, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-17867

At 5:42 AM on May 23, 2013, two white males entered the Hampton Inn at 401 West Schilling Road.  They jumped the counter and told the employee to put her hands up.  One suspect took the money drawer from the register.  They both left through the front door.  The first suspect, in his late teens wore a blue and white striped shirt, light blue jeans, tennis shoes and blue baseball cap.  The second, also in his late teens, wore a black shirt, red checkered shorts, Nike tennis shoes a black flat-billed baseball cap.  A video of this robbery can be seen on the Salina Police Department web site.

May 24, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-17552

Sometime during the night of May 20, 2013, a burglary was committed at a new construction site of 2310 Pinecrest.  Entry was gained by breaking a window near the front door.  Once inside numerous power tools were taken to include DeWalt cordless sawzall, DeWalt batteries, DeWalt hammer drills, DeWalt radio, Bosch router, Porter Cable saw, Bostitch hammer stapler, Bostitch nail guns, SENCO nail gun, and Bostitch roofing gun.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $3,400.

May 17, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-8809

Sometime between April 26th and the 29th, unknown person(s) entered a residence located at 120 West 5th Street, Gypsum.  The suspect(s) stole a white gold 3/4 ct. diamond ring with the cut, a white gold 5/8 ct. diamond ring with the band cut, a plastic jar containing approximately $2,500.00 in cash, a prescription pill bottle that contained 7.5 mg Hydrocodone pills.  Estimated loss: $7,020.00.

May 10, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-15607 & 2013-15613

Sometime between 4:00 PM May 4 and 3:00 PM May 6, 2013, two vehicle burglaries were committed at Brittendall Motors, 631 N. Santa Fe.  Both vehicles were forcibly entered and a Sony CD player and a Moline DVD/CD player were taken.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $800.00.

May 5, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-14745

Sometime between 4:00 PM on April 26, 2013 and 8:00 AM on April 29, 2013, two semi tractors were entered at Kansas Truck Center, 2552 North 9th Street.  A Connex 3300 Hi Power CB Radio and Ranger HAM 10-12 meter CB Radio were taken.  Loss is estimated at over $1,100.00.

April 26, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-8025

Sometime between the late evening hours of April 19, 2013 and the afternoon of April 21, 2013, several headstones were turned over in the Smolan Cemetery located in the 4800 block of South Burma Road.  At lest one of the headstones sustained damage in the amount of $214.00.  Additional damage is expected to be reported as the headstones are inspected.

April 19, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-13501

At about 6:45 PM April 18, 2013, a theft occurred at Sam's Club, 2919 Market Place.  A Black Male wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweat pants forced open a cabinet door to the cell phone kiosk.  He removed four I Phone 4S, six I Phone 5, one Samsung Galaxy S3, and three Samsung Galaxy Note 2 pads.  He then put the devices into a black Swiss Gear backpack and left the store.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $10,200.00.

April 12, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-11798

Sometime between 1:15 PM and 4:50 PM April 5, 2013, a theft was committed at the Chapel Ridge Apartments, 2363 Chapel Ridge Place.  Taken was a white 2005 Pace America enclosed utility trailer bearing Nebraska license plate 3X1098.  The contents include a brown love seat, bed, head board, home stereo and miscellaneous  household property.

Loss is estimated at over $3,000.00.

April 5. 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case#2012-17602

The Saline County Sheriff's Office is asking for your assistance in locating Jerry Wayne Watkins, Jr.  Watkins, Jr. has a warrant for his arrest charging him for rape in Saline County Kansas.  Watkins Jr.  is a 20 year old white, 5' 7", 145 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Watkins Jr.  was last known to be working as a welder for a welding company based our of New Cambria, Kansas and traveling to southwest Kansas or Oklahoma as part of a portable welding crew.

Watkins Jr. was last known to be living in the Dodge City or Ensign, Kansas areas.

March 29, 2013 Salina Police Department Case#2013-8548, 2013-8549, 2013-8555

Sometime during the night of March 10, 2013, three vehicle burglaries were committed in east Salina.  A 1998 Buick Park Avenue was forcibly entered while parked at 2430 Village Lane, a 2004 Ford pickup was forcibly entered while parked at 2137 Hillsdale, and an unsecured 2010 Ford pickup was entered whil parked at 503 Regent.  Items taken include wallets and contents.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,000.00.

March 15, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-5448

Sometime between March 1, 2013 and March 14, 2013, unknown person(s) forced their way into a residence located at 117 East 1st, Assaria.  The suspect(s) stole 100 Sci-Fi DVD's 1 red tool box with assorted tools, 1 box of assorted small novelty swords and 1 Apple I Pad with a Triplett sticker on the back.  Estimated loss and damages: $875.00.

March 8, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-5798

Sometime during the day on February 16th, a residential burglary was committed at 1036 East Iron.  The back door was forced open and the following items were removed.  1-Nikon D90 camera and battery grip; 1-Nikon 28 camera with 80mm lens;  1_Nikon 18 camera with  55mm lens; 1-Kodak underwater camera; 1-15" HP laptop; 1-15" Toshiba laptop and 4-hard drives.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,300.00.

March 1, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-6900

Sometime between February 22 and February 26, 2013, a burglary was committed at Indian Rock Park, 1500 Gypsum.  The lodge was entered and inside the fire extinguisher was discharged and then stolen.  Two exit signs were also destroyed.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $600.00.

February 22, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-502

Sometime between December 2, 2012 and January 8, 2013, unknown suspect(s) entered a home located at 218 South 3rd Street, Smolan.  Once inside the suspect(s) stole a silver snake shaped ring with approximately 7 diamonds and 2 ruby's as the eyes, a 14 karat gold necklace with a gold cross that contained 5 diamond diagonally and 5 diamonds vertically, an 18 karat gold ring that had a center diamond in the middle with multiple diamonds surrounding it, a 14 karat gold square bar ring that had small diamonds and two pill bottles containing approximately 30 pain pills per bottle.  Estimated loss: $3,660.00.

February 15, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-5005

Sometime between February 9 and February 11, 2013 a burglary was committed at AT&T, 409 East Prescott.  The fenced in area was entered and then several offices and vehicles were forcibly entered.  The suspects attempted to steal a 2007 Ford F350 by driving through the chain link fence however the vehicle became high centered.  The loss and damage is estimated at over $4,600.00.

February 1, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2013-2102

Sometime between January 17th and January 25th 2013, unknown person(s) stole various items from a farmstead located at 6780 South Hohneck Road.  The items reported missing are: 8' Servis red snow plow designed to fit an older Farmall tractor; a 6' x 8' single axle lawn trailer with older white spoked tires; an aluminum colored 4' x 4' yard cart; 5 aluminum fence poles; a rusty old file cabinet, and a set of white dishes.  A blue 90's Nissan extended cab pickup was seen leaving the farmstead.  Loss is estimated at $1,135.00.

January 25, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-2765

Sometime during the night of January 23, 2013, a business burglary was committed at Vulcan Manufacturing, 1007 W. North.  The business was entered and the following items were removed:  15 spools of welding wire, four 5' copper ground cables, and one automotive battery.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $2,200.00.

January 18, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2013-1001

Sometime between January 8 and January 10, 2013, a burglary was committed at Citywide Self Storage, 2435 Centennial.  A 2007 48' enclosed trailer was forcibly entered and the following items were taken:  a Honeywell 65oo watt generator, a Briggs 2500 watt generator, Craftsman floor jack, Craftsman socket set, and two 27 X 10 M&H slick tires mounted on Drag Lite aluminum rims.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,850.00

January 11, 2013 Saline County Sheriff's Office Case# 2012-21627

Sometime between November 30th and December 3rd, 2012, unknown suspect(s) broke into a construction trailer located in the area of Kipp Road and Hobbs Creek Road.  The suspect(s) stole a Stihl 14" gas powered cut off saw, set of Craftsman 12V drill and saw power tools, various Pittsburgh brand sockets and wrenches, and a case of 15W-40 oil.  Estimated loss and damages: $764.00.

January 4, 2013 Salina Police Department Case# 2012-48765

Sometime during the night of December 27, 2012 a burglary was committed at 829 Custer.  An enclosed trailer was forcibly entered and the following items were removed:  1-Senco staple gun; 1-Hitachi siding gun; 1-DeWalt miter saw; and 1-3/8" DeWalt drill.  Loss and damage is estimated at over $1,200.00.
