The Saline County Sheriff's Reserve Program is supervised by Captain Brian Shea. The unit consists of sixteen members at this time. To become a Reserve, you must complete a written application. You are then screened for criminal and driving records. You must pass a written test, be approved by an Oral Interview Board, pass an intensive background screening and take a psychological screening test.
After being approved by the Sheriff, you need to complete the 80 hour Part-time Law Enforcement Course. Each officer then donates sixteen hour per month to actively working at assigned duties and training within the department.
